Loved it

I love Kristin Hannah books and though this one was predictable it was well written and so touching. It was a definite feel good story and I loved every minute.
Though I don’t love Susan Erickson’s narration (which is true of all the books I’ve listened to that she narrates), it didn’t diminish the story for me.

I love Kristin Hannah, but this one was not for me.

One of my favorite books is The Nightingale.
I have read 4-5 other Of her books and enjoyed them all. This one, however, was written with over the top sickly sweet emotions. The story had a good premise, just overly emotive for me.

Ending

I’m glad it worked out for everyone but I found myself in tears for Angie. As a pediatric nurse for 41 years I would love to see more young people finding themselves in similar circumstances to choose adoption. Lauren worked too hard to be held back to community college. I wanted a different ending but enjoyed the overall context of unconditional love. Love and family looks different for every family

I could not stop listening! Be ready to cry your eyes out though. The story is so heart warming and real. Loved it.

How does she do it?

Kristin Hannah has done it again! How? How does she break my heart over and over just to put it back together again. Bravo!

The things we do for love

A wonderful story… a lot of fun and some sadness.. a good ending but, no epilogue.
This was a story that involved many lives and an epilogue fast forwarding four or five years would have made a better ending, in my opinion.

Worth the Wait!!!

An emotional Rollercoaster! SO life as it is...laughter, unconditional love and family at its best and worst...and both author and reader took you there.! Didn't want it to end :)

loved it. a great story about a warm family and their far reaching love. yes, by contrast Lauren's biological mom was unable to love her. if you are curious to read a well written story about choices humans make containing warm fuzzies as well as sorrow and sadness, the things we do for love contains alll of that and more. happy listening.
