I really enjoyed this workplace romance

I’m not sure I can pinpoint exactly what it was I loved about this one . . . Maybe it was the secret pining or maybe it was the forbidden nature or perhaps Parker’s perseverance once he made up his mind. Or maybe it was just all of it. I really liked the dynamic between the characters and the complexity of their workplace and Scout trying to advance her career. And Parker even gets a little possessive when Scout’s ex shows up.

Emma Wilder & Robert Hatchet both did an excellent job in this dual narration. So good in fact, I forgot it wasn’t duet!

Who Doesn’t Love an Enamored Ball Player!

The Strike Zone by Lulu Moore is book 4 in her New York Lions baseball series and I just can’t get enough!!
I really enjoyed Parker and Scout’s story!
I started this series backwards but have found these books are interconnected and don’t necessarily need to be read in order.

The story featured the following tropes:

I loved getting to see the dynamics between these two as the evolved from friends to lovers. Even more was watching Parker being enamored by Scout.

I was lucky enough to listen to this on audio and loved it. Robert Hatchet and Emma Wilder did a fantastic job with narration adding an element to the story.

Honestly based on hints I was given in book 5… yes I’m going wildly out of order here..(my bad) I knew I was gonna like their story.
I absolutely loved the narrators on the audiobooks too. They both did a great job and it was fun to see Tanner in from another perspective. He’s a dork.

Anyway. I liked what we saw of Scout in book 5 and knew I’d love her and I was not wrong. They are both very funny and silly and it was an awesome story and I loved how much baseball we got read about. I feel we need more baseball romances out there please and thank you.

Slow Burn Goodness!

Yall. I’ve been loving this series! These characters and this world is just so fun.

I’ve been patiently waiting for Parker’s story and it did not disappoint. He is such a sweetheart! He’s been waiting for his chance with Scout, and when fate (and a little bad timing) finally give him one, he’s all in. Scout, on the other hand, is done with men after a bad breakup and focused on her career. But Parker is impossible to ignore. I loved hearing him slowly wins her over in the cutest and most genuine way.

This one is definitely a slow burn. But the spice was well worth the wait! I also have to give a shoutout to the narrators - Robert Hatchet & Emma Wilder. They truly brought these characters to life!

I can’t wait to see what Lulu does next in this world.

Adorable sports romance!

This is the second book I’ve listened to in this series and now I want to listen to the whole series!

I’m such a sports romance book fan and this audiobook from Lulu Moore really checks off all the boxes. This is one of my favorite baseball romance series.

This book follows Parker who is a catcher on the Lions and he has been not so secretly pining over Scout who works for the team’s social media marketing department. Parker’s the best golden retriever MMC. He’s the definition of the “He Falls First” Trope.

I loved Scout’s character a lot and really related to her as an FMC.

This story was really sweet and just such a feel good listen.

Robert Hatchet and Emma Wilder were the perfect narrator pairing with this one. They both brought such a lovely spirit to these characters. They were a perfect casting and such a wonderful performance.

Lulu Moore has out done herself on this one.. especially with Robert Hatchet and Emma Wilder performance breaking out the incredibly hilarious sides and showcasing the lovable antics of four best friends in this book!

Robert Hatchet and Emma Wilder …. Lord have mercy, these two knocked it out the park with their incredible performances, Robert Hatchet delivery of the Characters hilarious shenanigans were spot on and Emma Wilder Male voices drives me wild!
Together they were perfection in this Audiobook Lulu Moore Concocted with a brilliant hilarious story!

Now I can’t wait for Tanner’s story!
This series just keeps getting better and better!

Definitely recommend listening to this book that’ll have you routing for the guy while rolling with laughter!

Fave narration of the series

This whole series was a fun ride. The playful banter and antics between the teammates made for an ideal found family. I loved the interconnectedness of this series. While each could be read as a standalone, you really don’t want to miss any of their stories. Just when I would think I found a favorite, a new teammate would enter the picture and I would have to rethink what I knew.

Parker has wanted Scout for so long and he finally has his chance. The friendship they built was so good. This was my favorite narration.

Parker & Scout

This is the story of MMC Parker and FMC Scout. Parker is a pro baseball player and Scout works in social media for the team. This was a cute story. Not life changing but not awful. I loved the rookie hazing/minion scene. The description of the journey to the coffee shop with the rookie’s dressed as minions literally had me laughing out loud at the office! This was a low-angst, lighthearted read. The found family/friend group of supporting characters was great. Robert Hatchet and Emma Wilder did a great job bringing these characters to life.

Another home run For Lulu Moore

Lulu Moore hits another home run with The Strike Zone, the fourth book in her New York Lions series. This friends-to-lovers, secret relationship romance is pure gold, and the audiobook, narrated brilliantly by Robert Hatchet and Emma Wilder, makes it an absolute must-listen.

The story follows Parker King, a baseball player who has been head over heels for Scout Davison, the team’s social media representative. When he finally gets the chance to make his move, he’s too late. Scout is focused on her career, so Parker shifts his strategy to a "friends first" approach. What he doesn't anticipate is that their feelings will grow too strong to ignore, even with a new company policy making relationships between players and staff a major problem.

The narration by Robert Hatchet and Emma Wilder is simply brilliant. They capture the humor and chemistry of the characters perfectly, making every interaction feel authentic and engaging. Their performance elevates the story, making it a joy to listen to from start to finish.


The Strike Zone is a high-contender for the best book in the series. It has everything you could want in a sports romance: amazing banter, a couple with undeniable chemistry, and a heartwarming journey to a well-earned happy ending. Whether you're a longtime fan of the series or new to the world of the New York Lions, this book is a winner.
