Fantastic Story!!!

I loved this story, it managed to grab me from the start and kept my attention from start to finish!! When is the second book coming out!!

Adventure, rogues, heists and a fresh fantasy world.

If you want an adventure with intrigue, thieves, fun characters and an exciting plot, look no further. I was hooked early and didn’t want the ride to stop. I love the main 3 characters and really enjoyed their banter. The world building is imaginative and puts a fresh spin on things. Highly recommend!

Great new serie

Wonderful characters and a fun new world. Narrator was spot on - particularly Flea’s voice. Can’t wait for the next books.

This book was such a great fantasy tale. The qorldbuilding and magic were cool. I loved the overall connection between the worldbuilding and the story. Each character was interesting and made the story that much better. I am super excited for the next book!

world building and characters

the story was almost instantly captivating, thought not by its plot, but by the characters and the world in which they exist. the banter between them and the realness of each one was like listening to a well done play. I found myself increasingly interested in the world and wanted to know about every little detail I could. the plot was a little lacking. it seemed to take a while before it really got going and you knew where it was going. other than that, I absolutely loved it.

The world was intriguing

Worth a listen and honestly looking forward to where things are going in the next book!

Niiiiiice

Good start to a promising new series. A couple really colorful and compelling characters. I will definitely read the next book and look forward to see where this all goes. I didn’t find myself very emotionally invested in the characters, with exception of Flea, and the main character gave me a couple serious eye roll moments, particularly when reflecting upon his “haunted past”. I also found myself seriously doubting the protagonist’s qualifications or competence more than once, which doesn’t always bother me in fantasy but I felt like his status as a badass was never properly demonstrated or justified. On top of this, he keeps doing super ballsy things. My opinion on him could definitely change as we discover more about his past. Excellent performance from the narrator…overall 3/5 stars

Great Book

Favorite fantasy book I read this year. Great performance as well. Highly recommend. All of the characters a developed very well. You can almost feel their presence.

Refreshing!!!

This is one of very very few books that I have listened to exclusively straight through without needing a change of “scenery” and switching to something else for a while. It was a great listen both for the excellent narration of newbie Brenock O’Connor (who seems to have a great future with his side hustle of narration) and the fun way Logan intermixes the sub genres of grim dark, magic, humor, mystery, and character growth/adventure/hero’s journey. It was constantly surprising and every time I thought I could guess what might happen next (and get bored) it would go in a new direction. The main characters are endearing and, even better, there are several side characters who were wonderfully unique enough to hope for potential 1.5 novellas or 0.5 prequels about. There was just never any dragging of plot and is why I use refreshing as a descriptive. So many authors make the choice to stay in comfortable story arcs for a tad too long. It can lead to whole chapters where nothing is going on other than the underscoring of character traits over and over leaving the intelligent reader with the sense that they are stuck in a remedial detention class. This story never goes there; it is unpredictable and entertaining. Next please!!!
