Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of The Search by Howard Linskey, read by Kieran Bew.

Someone knows where the bodies are buried...

Little Susan Verity went missing during the heatwave of 1976. An unprecedented amount of police resource went into finding her, but to no avail. Until now.

Convicted serial killer Adrian Wicklow was always the prime suspect. In the past, he's repeatedly lied to the police about where Susan's body is buried - playing a sick game from behind bars.

But this time, he says, he'll tell the truth. Because Adrian Wicklow is dying.

Detective Ian Bradshaw works with investigative journalists Helen Norton and Tom Carney to find the body. However, this is Wicklow's life's work. Would a murderer on death's door give up his last secret so easily...?

This is the third book by Howard Linskey with the same trio. I found it hard to get into because the character with whom the book starts is thoroughly unlikeable. Once we get into the actual mystery, the story picks up and keeps going. Reader is very good.

It gets better

Kieran bew has become one of my favorite narrators of all time. With the way that he puts personality into the characters it makes me laugh and get mad with them. The story is amazing. I love how Howard linskey turns the tables unexpectedly while also building up to explaining who killed the girl. I love how in Howard linskeys stories he has multiple stories happening at once. this sort of story telling makes the world feel alive and not just in its own little bubble.

amazing story and narrator

I was disappointed when this story ended....i felt more should have been written to tie everything up. the ending seemed too abrupt...almost if the author was suddenly sick of writing what otherwise was a captivating story. T

a captivating read

I like being transported to, and spending some time in, the English countryside. I suppose some detail is missing. But an enjoyable trip nonetheless. The team is most of the fun-meaning Tom, Helen, and Ian. Difficult to criticize without mentioning specifics-so I will just say that there was one unbelievable coincidence which made the whole story a bit less satisfying. Still fun.
