Sweet Love Story, but definitely check the Trigger Warnings
The love story is lovely, and it’s definitely a slow burn romance. The world building is detailed and beautiful.
But there is almost a whole chapter of SA that I feel was unnecessary. They could have mentioned it without going into so much detail. Granted it wasn’t as detailed as other novels I’ve read; but I feel the amount of time spent on it was needless, and didn’t add to the story.

Heather Wilds deserves an Oscar
Audio book narration is high art. I didn't believe that until I heard Heather Wilds narrate the Winter King, and then the Sea King. She gets it and she gets us gentle readers. That said, I had to re-listen to this book because the first time, I wasn't all that enchanted with our MMC. I thought his pursuit of the FMC bordered on Pepé Le Pew antics. The second listen allowed me to understand his intentions and the character dynamic better. I read a review of the Winter King that said "bury me in this book" and I think, for me, that goes for the whole series. Now I'm patiently waiting for book 3.

The overall theme
Because I love the overall world and stories, this got a higher score. The waiting that summer made happen was excruciating to read through. I did not like the resolution (or lack there of )with the remaining seasons. Heather Wilds was awesome!

Very good story
I loved this story as much as the first. I was a little skeptical because of the reviews but I’m glad I bought it. I would definitely recommend this book. I can’t wait until the next one comes out.

What a rich and beautiful world
This is the second book in the series and I'm already jonesing for the 3rd book! The story is rich in detail and both the caracters and the performance by Heather Wilds draws you into their world. You long to be on the sea with Dilys and his men. You long to be by Summer's side as she battles her demons and the pirates. Please, please, please be working on the next book!
