love the story line and description

I loved the story i could not let go untill the end.. that being said i did not enjoy the end, but that it wss not too bad and it is not tge same as all other stories so yes it was really great listen.

Enjoyed the story

It was a simple story yet intricate in its depth. Wish she had written more depth in the side characters to make the story richer

Pretty good, not amazing.

I personally liked the other 3 installments in this series better then this one. This one was by far the longest and it had less of the typical happy ending feel you may come to expect from this author. while I liked the main characters well enough, I felt like most of the side characters were sort of just a means to an end and didn't really add much to the story. it's not terrible, but I wasn't super happy with it either. Overall a solid 3 out of 5.

Enjoyable and full of fun Easter eggs

I received an audio code from the publisher and this is my honest review.

The narration was really well done. I personally love the narrator used and think she did a fantastic job on this book.

The story itself had a good plot and intriguing characters. Overall I really enjoyed it. I loved how there were little Easter eggs connecting it to the other books set in this world.

Can’t wait for the next

I absolutely LOVED the rest of these books, but this one has been my least favorite so far. The storyline was still good, and the narrator (as always) did amazing, I just wasn’t wowed this time. But I still can’t wait for more!

Meh! It wasn’t my favorite 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I have listened to many of this author’s books, but this one was a bit predictable. I didn’t connect with the characters like in her other books.

The world building

Everything about this audiobook was amazing from the characters to the world building. The story had me completely enthralled as if I myself was dragged to the seas with a siren call. I was saddened toward the end it was bittersweet. The whole story was amazing and the narrator did a spectacular job with the characters both male and female. It all was amazing!

Satisfying, Meaningful, Unique, & Well Written

I love this series so much. I didn't think I would enjoy stand-alone novels, but these are unique in that they still tie together.
This book is very well written. I found Victoria incredibly relatable. I also love the healthy relationship that offers a good, slow build-up of tension. Ilwraith is such a good man (merman?)... *swoon*... The way he is patient and kind to Victoria. Respectful, yet protective. The trope here is also the vibe of "forbidden romance", since she is a sacrifice to the gods that is not meant to be touched. So good. Also, I love that the story focuses more on lore than steamy scenes, yet the steamy scenes are still yummy. I won't give spoilers, but I always love how Kova wraps up the endings in a satisfying, neat little bow. Some folks are saying that it's not a happy ending (are you kidding??), but it seems pretty friggin happy to me. Like in any good story, there are gains and losses. To me, that is the mark of a good author. But the book is still happy!
That said, these books don't get as raunchy as others, but that's why I like them. Sometimes the "constant raunch" gets boring and repetitive. Kovas stories are so incredibly unique and still swoon-worthy. Her world-building, character construction, and lore are so captivating. 10 out of 10!
