it was just okay.

I struggled to finish the books. The story line became so predictable. The constant retelling of the items/person value/strength became aggrevating.
I would have been more disappointed if I had used a credit for the series.

It was ok, not worth one credit.

The first six books were stuffed with filler. Every time the hero did something we were taken through stats, every single time. Felt like a book written for teens, with dirty words thrown in. Not worth a credit per book after the first six books. Sum it up in one word? Disappointing.

I want to like it.

to be perfectly honest I don't like giv8ng negative review but her it goes. the side characters are amazing, the narrator is one of my favorites and the only reason I'm continuing thr book, the overall story and idea is great but the MC is super childish.

he's what in his mid to late 20's? but he acts like a prepubecant teen. He gets mad because he doesn't understand basic economics and acts like everything should be handed to him. one example is when he's selling that monster core. The merchant said it's worth 10 and he'd buy it for 7. that is a wicked could deal since the merchant would only make a 3 coin profit on it.

At the beginning of the series he was super impatient and that got him into a lot of shit because if he just relaxed a bit he wouldn't have been to frustrated and he didn't really have anything he needed to rush towards. He was just trying to get into magic school he could have taken a minute.

He is super selfish and then all of a sudden he decides to slow down and has some stupid morals.

I didn’t want to like it

This is just verbalization of a video game but it totally sucks you in. Although I wish he didn’t check his “stats” so much, it’s exciting and action packed.
My only complaint is the language, for a book that is clearly geared toward a young adult audience, they use bad language a LOT.

Is the mc character retardedness

I think if the boy would just grow up and start taking responsibility instead of being a greedy little brat he might get something done in this room and come back for me

It sounds like it was written by a 5-year-old. It's awful. I need to review every book so I don't buy more of this garbage.

Very childish and strung out. This series has been strung out so long with no real progression that I doubt I’ll ever see anything accomplished. The main characters whine and complain constantly and just when the MC begins to have some somewhat interesting power it’s all stripped away leaving us back to book 3 basically. This was a huge waste of time and money. The only reason I went this far was to give the author a fair chance to entertain me but this series has no hope. With the lack of writing skill I doubt I will try any other books from this author unless reviews are raving good. Narrator was not great but decent, however maybe I have spoiled myself listening to Travis Baldree so much.

Nerfed in book 6

Book 1-5 was pretty good. Book 6 sucked. He gets nerfed hard. Then doesn’t want to grind anymore since he’s like a pacifist (senseless killing as he puts it) now when it comes to killing even in dungeons. Also his fighting strategy got nerfed as well. For example he used to use his greasy summon more strategically going into rooms but in book 6 I think he used it once and I don’t think he even used his horse summon once. I think he only used his volatile spell and he hates doing it, so not much magic from him. Also since the other guy is the archer now he doesn’t even level archery as well. Constant complaining from all the main characters. Idk the writing just fell off in this book compared to the 1-5 books. Really hoping book 7 is way better. Truthfully I think I’m only moving on to book 7 out of determination since I like finishing a series but if book 6 would have been book 1 I would have dropped it and moved onto something else.

Just when you thought it was getting better.

I was just getting to where I was enjoying the pace of series. Considering the first 3 books were so bloody boring, book 4 was getting there book 5 was keeping up then book 6 you just had to !@#$% it up. You put him/us all the !@#$% way back to book 3. Cmon that is not cool. I can't even finish it now. So way to go!!!!
