Resumen del Editor

"Seamless blend of sensual romance with sooty London ton plus a splash of the fantastic!" (Fresh Fiction)

“A spirited and compulsively readable paranormal romance.” (Kirkus Reviews)

A gorgeous psychic. An unwanted betrothal. A tantalizing compromise.

Lady Victoria Hamilton has a supernatural gift, a fiancé, and a guardian angel. She just never expected her protector to be the most dazzling man in England, a devilish scoundrel they call the Blue Bastard.

Victoria has agreed to marry for duty, not love, but her unforeseen desire for her mystical angel threatens to destroy not only her plans for the future, but the armor surrounding her susceptible heart.

A confirmed scoundrel, a mind reader, and the only man she desires.

Illegitimate son of a viscount and reigning king of London’s gossip sheets, Finn Alexander has spent a lifetime hiding his ability to read minds behind charming smiles and wicked behavior.

No one knows the real man, and he likes it that way. Until he meets the lone woman who sees the man beneath the disguise - a blue-blooded temptress with the power to bring him to his knees.

As they embark on a journey of passion and friendship, Victoria and Finn must decide if they’re willing to risk everything for the promise of true, magical love.

Different and enticing

First I must say that the paranormal aspect is a wonderful addition to the story. Well developed and made believable. Our hero and heroine tried really hard not to fall in love but it prevailed.
The narration was A+. Kimberly Wetherell brought the story to life. She made distinct voices for each character, her accent was perfect and her intonation and emotion she added to the story was spot on. Very good historical fiction/paranormal story. Recommended.

League of Lords Series

The Rake Is Taken (League of Lords, Book 2) brings a supernatural element in a regency ×men special abilities rather than witchcraft. It's uniqueness adds to the story and series. Character development is well established and opulence of action and romance throughout the story. We don't get much about the history of the period, however we did learn the class distinctions during the the period which was interesting. Vivid descriptions and world details. Looking forward to listening to the next audio in the series.

Kimberly M. Wetherell narration is smooth and easy listening. Her inflection is distinctive and brings the story and characters to reality.

journey to romance and family

It took me no time at all to jump right in to Finn and Victoria's journey to romance. I loved Finn from The Lady is Trouble. I love his maturity and his dedication to the League. I fell in love with the group of extraordinary league members and the battalion of soldiers. In this story we get a new addition to the league that has something both men (Fine and the Duke) need. But there is one that needs her so much more and for reasons that mean so much to him. We see a true test of loyalty, love, and brotherhood.

Kimberly M. Wetherell made an impact with this introduction to me and the audio narration world. I very much enjoyed her various inflections, pitches, tones, and variation in male and female. I felt her voice fit the genre.

Very Disappointing!!!

This is my first book by Tracy Sumner, and possibly my last.

The characters seemed interesting and the theme inviting. I was excited to listen to this audio book as the summary boasted a promising story. However, I was greatly disappointed!!

First, not sure if there was a proper depiction of anything British or English. For a historical romance novel set in England, that was poor.

Second, the narrator, Kimberley M. Witherell sounded American and showcased a bad British accent. In fact, her narration was the main thing that ruined this book for me. I had to listen attentively and not make a sound just to hear and understand what she was saying. I can't comprehend it; there seemed to be something wrong somewhere. Due to this, it took me longer to listen to than most books I've listened to. Initially, I thought it might be the writing, but I concluded that it had to be the narrator. It was a well written book but the narration was so difficult to follow.

Third, despite having been well written, the story was quite boring. There didn't seem to be any point to it. No solid plot. There wasn't any real barrier to keep the hero and heroin apart in the first place, but it looked like the author was trying to find a challenge that had to be overcome in order to make up her story and plot; it was so weak. The whole story was much ado about nothing.

Fourth, there were so many sub-stories that weren't developed; they lacked any build-up, follow-up, or/and conclusion. Nothing about Victoria's parents. Her lady's maid Agnes seemed forgotten. What did the Baron have over Victoria's dad. A file was mentioned, and that was it. The big secret dream and finding his sister was a big anti-climax... and the reveal was a huge let down.

I really didn't like this book and wanted to give up reading it so many times, but kept thinking things would get better. I was wrong!!

Not interested in the rest of the League of Lords series.
