Resumen del Editor

He might be hard to work for, but he's impossible to resist.

Sasha Sobieski has the perfect job working at legendary American fashion house Harrison Kingsley - or at least he used to. He just never thought he'd have to work for Harrison Kingsley himself. Harrison is exacting, difficult, cold, and hands-down the sexiest man Sasha has ever seen.

After years at the top, Harrison Kingsley knows what he wants, when he wants it, and exactly how he'd like it to be delivered to him. What he wants most right now? His new assistant. Sasha is mouthy, opinionated, and he drives Harrison mad. Problem is, Harrison can never tell if it's with anger...or desire.

Rusty makes this book really work!

Sasha works for a fashion designing team run by brother and sister Joanne and Harrison Kingsley. Luckily, he works mostly for Joanne as Harrison has always treated him like an ass.

When Jo gets pregnant, Sasha is forced to work with Harrison and it’s a nightmare. Until… Harrison takes a turn and takes Sasha to Italy. Suddenly he’s as sweet as pie and the two find themselves involved in a relationship.

But when Joanne’s scheming puts Harrison at a disadvantage he takes out his emotions on Sasha in a cruel way.

Faced with Sasha’s willingness to quit the company rather than work for the brother and sister any longer the siblings put their heads together to come up with a way to save Harrison’s relationship and their employee.

**

So… this is MEANT to be like the old fashioned Harlequin romances where the hero and heroine are from widely different economic classes and they travel to Europe and the smexy times are not the focus of the book… so that all happens here.

Harrison is a grade a jerk for most of the book. Sasha is wonderful. The couple aren’t a couple til nearly 70 % in to the book. They have sex one time on page and the rest is suggested. In the end Harrison has a grand groveling scene and all is forgiven.

It fits the Harlequin model to a T!

If that is something you remember fondly you will love this book (and probably the series). If this annoyed you like it did me… you’ll remember why you quit reading those books eventually.

I thought it was a fun way to spend a couple hours but it certainly isn’t my favorite.

Audio

Rusty Topsfield totally rocked this! He gives everyone very OTT accents and really makes this a fun listening experience. It felt (like I think it should) like a telenovela or soap opera for the radio. It was great! I loved it and highly recommend this as the best way to experience this story.

Fairytale

Pretty much beauty and the beast reimagined. A beautifyl prince(ss) is sent to a deserted castle to fall in love with a grumpy prince. There's even the sympathetic staff.

Narrator saved it

Any additional comments?

Okay, so I read the book first. Was not overly excited by it.

But wanted to give the audio a chance, for one the narrator is becoming one of my favorites and two I’ve found that even though I’ve not liked the book, the audio blows me away.

With this one however, I still found Harrison a pompous SOB and Sasha too whiny for my liking. Also unlike the book, this time I keyed into the sister more, and found I also didn’t care for her. Maybe it was a sibling growing up rich and spoiled thing but Harrison and Joanna both came over too much for me. Kudos to Rusty, the narrator for that!

Because this was read to me, I was able to really delve into the words this time, and what I found or didn’t find was the reasoning on why? Why did this middle American boy get offered this high profile job, why is he so hung up on this guy, why does he put up with this boss? All these questions are offered up, but never answered.

You get why Harrison and Joanna are the way they are. Money, title, prestige, if not rained in early enough will spoil the child/adult.

The redemption of characters at the end was nice, but for me too little too late.

The narrator, really saved this for me. Rusty, has a great voice and does multi charterers brilliantly.
