Amazing narrator! And engaging storyline

Wonderful character development that just sucks you in and you become so engrossed in the story. The narrator was ethe most exceptional I have encountered so far!

I didn't expect this 😁

I read this because the women in my book group picked it. I didn't think I was going to like it but after a chapter and a half I was sucked right into it and finished it in 3 days. it was absolutely fantastical. it was incredibly imaginative and heartwarming. it brought out all of my emotions.

Beautiful Concept…a little repetitive and didactic

This story had a bigger impact on me than I anticipated. The concept of the story and how books impact us, and how we ourselves are like authors was beautiful to me and kept me involved. The story itself wasn’t written poorly and the performance was fine, there were just points where it felt like the message was being excessively spelled out just in case the reader missed it. Other than that, this book really did have a significant impact on me and got me thinking.

Wanted to be friends with each main character.

Really enjoyed this book. Sometimes it felt a little long, but I loved the storyline and how it ended.

Felt immature and surfacey.

I read another review of this book that referred to it as "heavy handed and didactic" and while I did have to look up didactic in the dictionary (intended to teach), the description really sums it up. It felt very much like the author wanted to teach you life lessons rather than let them unfold naturally through the course of the narrative. The characters felt very one dimensional and cartoonish. They lacked depth. The story had a good seed of creativity but the execution was just sort of clumsy and felt like a new writer still learning their craft. This one was a disappointment and is not one I'd recommend to others.
