Endurance

Good story of one of the first women trained as a physician who endures despite the odds against here including her own doubts about her ability to do so.

Good character development

the story had good character development. I felt like there was unnecessary sexual content.

I love all her books and want more people to discover her writing! A focus on women who didn’t follow the status quo - and stepped outside of
Societal norms - the books and thoroughly researched, based in reality and take you back in time.

It’s not about Galveston

I selected this book from a sale on Audible because of the title. I’m always interested in stories about the Galveston 1900 storm. Instead it is an endless slog through one endless stop for the traveling show. The author describes the horrible conditions, bad boss and her mistreatment. The book is 85% over before Galveston is mentioned. I give a book 3 stars if I am able to finish it. But it was mostly the good narrator who kept me listening.

Excellent author

I have listened to all of this author’s books. This was her last book and it did not disappoint. Her heroines are always very human with insecurities that they learn to overcome. The characters were all so interesting and the story had an exciting finish.
