Vintage Longmire in all the best ways!!

This book is a great, and much needed, return to the original style of the Longmire books. I love this whole series immensely, but the Bidarte storyline sort of lost the essence of what made me love the Longmire series to begin with (I’ve a hunch they thought it would make better a TV script for that terrible show…).

Not this book buddy. Walt and the gang are back in full force and style. And so is Johnson.

I absolutely loved it and can’t wait for the next book!

Blending memories into the present day action.

Craig Johnson has a way of blending memories into the present day action, and with some kinda magic he gives the reader a mesmerizing tale. This tale is extremely close and personal to Walt Longmire as he finds himself investigating a cold case. His own grandfather and a shooting death that happened in an elk camp on his grandfather's land. The case quickly heats up as the grave digger and friend looking for the body is shot. I can't even begin to describe the number of twisty turns this mystery has to take as Walt Longmire works out the case.
George Guidall as always is the perfect narrator for the Walt Longmire story. So yeah grab the book and enjoy listening...

Another great mystery!

Love this series and look forward to each new novel and visiting with my favorite characters for a bit. As always, excellent narrator. Think I will have to reread the whole series. Again. It’s SO well written!

The combination of George Guidall and Craig Johnson is a win win proposition. One of Johnson’s best.

Excellent narration as expected with GG ! Good story line. Couldn’t buy the ending though as Vic is too savvy to not know what’s going on.
