Resumen del Editor

The Lady of the Lake: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience! *

Trapped in a world ruled by the Elves, separated from Geralt and her destiny, Ciri will need all her training as a fighter and sorceress to survive in the fifth novel of the Witcher, Andrzej Sapkowski’s groundbreaking epic fantasy series that inspired the hit Netflix show and the blockbuster video games.

After walking through the portal in the Tower of Swallows and narrowly escaping death, Ciri finds herself in a completely different world. . . an Elven world. Time does not seem to exist and there are no obvious borders or portals to cross back into her home world. She is trapped.

But this is the child of prophecy, and she will not be defeated. She knows she must escape to finally rejoin the Witcher and his companions—and also to conquer her worst nightmare. Leo Bonhart, the man who chased, wounded, and tortured Ciri, is still on her trail. And the world is still at war.

*Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"The universe of Sapkowski's The Witcher is one of the most detailed and best-explored in modern fantasy, offering endless opportunities for fresh ideas ... Complex character relationships enrich this already complex world; this is the sort of series fantasy fans will cherish."—B&N

"The Lady of the Lake is, without any doubt, the best and most profound fantasy novel I have ever read. It is hard to put down, yet also a challenging and deeply rewarding book. And it is genuinely moving. I have never read a fantasy series like this, and suspect I never will again."—Nerds of a Feather

"The Witcher delivers one of the most intense and rewarding role-playing experiences this year."—GT Reviews on The Witcher video game

Let this man read it to you

I love the audio (especially booktrack) because this narrator nails his characters, and helps with pronunciation. I preferred listening compared to reading because of his characterization. Geralt will forever sound like that to me <3

Must read for the Witcher fan!

Book was full of details that brought the World of the Witcher to life. Character development and story kept me wanting to hear the next chapter. The soundtrack in the background set a mood for the scene for me. Looking forward to listening to the next installment. Well done, indeed!

Late to the show.

I don’t know about this one. Since apparently I read it out of order for the Witcher novels. Basically to me it was about ciri.

worst of the series

with a terribly paced first half that does almost nothing to forward the narrative and a drawn out denouement, it's a slog of a conclusion to an otherwise enjoyable series.

A Change in format

I enjoyed the Witcher up until this book where it takes a 2nd person pov looking back in time. you will get some info about the characters in the past but mostly it will be about the new characters we are introduced to trying to look back in time at what happened through out the books we have read. the story is still there but it needs to be found. you may enjoy it but its a change I am not too keen on

Music, rape and murder, tripping the light fantastic…

The back ground music is very distracting. I had thought it would be periodic and emphasize key dramatic events. But it’s constant and takes a lot to get over. I would not buy this version again.

The narrator continues to do an excellent job.

The story line is really weird though. These books (and I’ve read or listened to all of them now) started off great. The latter ones (especially this one) have a ton of dark references to rape mixed in with hard to follow trips across the worlds as Ciri discovers her powers.
One could argue that the author does a great job of portraying the worst aspects of war but some just seems unnecessary.

And on the subject of Ciri’s power. This seemed strangely undeveloped.

Overall i was disappointed in these last two books having loved the first several.
