Andrzej Sapkowski's Witcher series is a global phenomenon with over thirty million copies sold and translated into over forty languages worldwide. Crossroads of Ravens is a new standalone novel following fantasy's most beloved monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia, on his first steps towards becoming a legend.

“A wonderful insight into the beginnings of one of fantasy's most beloved and iconic characters, Geralt of Rivia. Immersive, exciting, and emotional. Crossroads of Ravens is not to be missed.” – John Gwynne, New York Times bestselling author

Witchers are not born. They are made.

Before he was the White Wolf or the Butcher of Blaviken, Geralt of Rivia was simply a fresh graduate of Kaer Morhen, stepping into a world that neither understands nor welcomes his kind.

And when an act of naïve heroism goes gravely wrong, Geralt is only saved from the noose by Preston Holt, a grizzled witcher with a buried past and an agenda of his own.

Under Holt’s guiding hand, Geralt begins to learn what it truly means to walk the Path – to protect a world that fears him, and to survive in it on his own terms. But as the line between right and wrong begins to blur, Geralt must decide to become the monster everyone expects, or something else entirely.

This is the story of how legends are made – and what they cost.

“Geralt is one of the great characters in all of fantasy. Whether you're coming from the games, TV show, or are simply new to the Witcher universe - these books are absolutely worth the read.” – James Islington, author of The Will of the Many

I’m a huge fan of the original book series, specifically the short stories and Season of Storms. I feel like the later books kinda fell off, so I was a bit skeptical at this newest one being a good read but I was pleasantly surprised.

If you are new to The Witcher, don’t start here. Even though it’s chronologically the first installment I would start with The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny. This book just hits so much harder when you know what happens later. You want to be hit full force with the doomed narrative.

I devoured this in two days and I’m probably going to re-read it later. No notes. Maybe just the emotional whiplash Peter Kenny’s young Geralt voice had on me. I couldn’t help but think “who is this? where’s Geralt?” at the beginning.

I was skeptical but wow he did it again

Enjoyable early exploits of Geralt, with some backstory that helped make him the Witcher he came to be. Great story from Sapkowski, and great audiobook rendition.

Another Great Addition to The Witcher Series

Sapkowski’s gift for compelling narrative fall slightly flat in this volume, likely due to length. Where his stories are usually cleverly circular, self referential and introspective, this work doesn’t quite meet that lofty standard. I very much enjoyed a crossroad of ravens, but wish it was longer and had fewer loose ends.

A welcome edition to the Witcher book series, but not as compelling as other entries.

I thought the story was great. enjoyed listening to geralt's beginnings. wish it was a little bit longer though.

young Gerelt!

I absolutely love the series and was really excited when this was announced. Sometimes the story feels a bit too rushed as it has several time skips and the story takes a while to let you know where its headed, but I ultimately ended up liking it quite a bit and home we get more witcher stories in the future.

Pretty good

way too disorganized plot. seems like a pointless book. Peter Kenny is great though. 4 stars

A young Geralt getting started down his path. Thoroughly enjoyable ride, listened to in one day.

Just as good as the rest

if this was a stand alone short story like "Sword of Destiny", I would not rate it as high as I have, but as a prequel to Blood of Elves,

I could not recommend it more. The call backs (call...forwards?) are masterful. If you have finished the rest of the series, this book will leave you grinning quiet often.

The perfect prequel.

Another beautiful story following our favorite Witcher. If Andrzel could put out a book a month it wouldn’t be enough. He knows how to tell a story. David French did an excellent job narrating as usual. Much love for this new title.

Another banger

Love the lore / world building. Sapkowski has done it again. Hoping we get more!!!

I love this entry.
