Loved every bit!

Great characters, good plot, easy flow . Thoroughly enjoyed this book! Definitely recommend to all fantasy lovers.

A grand frolic!

Thoroughly enjoyable. Something for everyone withOUT the romantasy drek so overused recently. This book has mystery, political intrigue, sorcery, familiars, diverse characters and a wonderful performance.

Really Good Audio Series!!!

Definitely for an adult audience. With that said - this is a really good series and I'm a huge Epic Fantasy & Sci-fi Fantasy fan. Read many series when I was younger. Now that I don't have the luxury of sitting and reading for hours and need to get stuff done I devour audio books. I thought I gaff listened, read, or watched all the good ones already, but this was such a pleasant surprise. I completely recommend this series!!! Can't wait to get back to it when away.

Enjoyable world

Ruffin has written an enjoyable and fairly cohesive world. I would absolutely listen to this series again. My only real criticism is that some of the modern vernacular disrupts the immersion but this is a very small picky complaint. If you like fun magical worlds this is a good one.

Well worth your time

I’m only 1/3 through this but I can already say I haven’t been this engaged in a story in a while. Though it’s full of typical fantasy tropes, it does it in a brilliant way, drawing the reader in.

I have pretty high standards with fantasy. There’s a lot of crap out there. This isn’t one of those. I don’t mean that this is the Wheel of Time good, but it’s good clean adult (also for young adults) reading. In some ways it reminds me of pierce Anthony, except I don’t love most of his stuff and this is good.

Interesting magic system but not overbearing; just part of the world that everyone is used to.

I don’t think I’ve ever written a review only a third into a book, but this doesn’t have a ton of reviews and I want people to know it’s well worth the listen.
