I'm sorry i love this series but this book was a total snooze fest, way to long and drawn out.

Wonderfully written but. Sometimes crawled.

I loved the characters in dept. Q ! I hope it's not the end of Q.

interesting story

murder mystery from the past. way too much concentration on suicide and accepting death. this could have been two books.

No more “Christ on a bike” nor “Asaaasad” yelling

This book is quite different from previous installments. It focuses more on the investigation which is more complex a finally has some unexpected twists and surprises up in its sleeve. For the first time Carl is more involved and he doesn’t need to be so heavily convinced by the others about the case. He is not that lazy guy anymore (who just sits with his legs up and daydreaming about doing nothing). On the other hand there are still no breathtaking investigation techniques nor mind blowing deductions by the DepQ members. It is just about not giving up and doing thorough police work.

Again Dept Q entertains

I’ve read/listened to several Dept Q books and Hanging Girl does not disappoint. Lots to twists and turns, and of course attitude from Rose and Assad. Very entertaining!

Brilliant, profound, charming, drole

I love every one of J A-O books. The blending of unique characters, complex plots, with a profound understanding of human nature, make these outstanding in every way. That doesn’t even include the glorious narrative by Graham Malcom who has to be the best narrator in history.

High Quality Crime Writing

Roes and Assad quietly go about the business of doing most of the work of crime solving, even as Carl tries to nap. He gets interrupted repeatedly with complaints from his two assistants, but ultimately, they work together like well-oiled cogs.

This series is just brilliant in it's detail and character development- each installment is just as good as the last. Although this could be a stand alone novel, and the same for the others, the enjoyment is expanded greatly if starting at the beginning and reading each in order. Best to know the little quirks and backstories for each of the Dept Q characters,

Adler-Olsen has hit upon a winning series!

Love Carl and Assad and dialogue and plot

Just writing a brief, "I'm on my lunch," review. I read The Keeper of Lost Causes (Dept Q) and that started my love affair with Dept. Q. Characters are great, story is detailed and believable. Narrator is excellent as well. If you like droll humor, flawed characters and a good mystery, then this is for you.

More please!

The only bad thing about Jussi Adler Olsen's books is waiting for more! Love the plot but the Star of the story is the relationship between the two protagonists

Peace, murder and a VW

If you're considering this book without having listened to others in the series you may not appreciate the characters and their relationships but still it is such a great read.

If you're already a Department Q fan, this one will not disappoint. It has moments that will have you laughing out loud and moments when you will be horrified. The cult theme was unexpected, since it's not something too common nowadays and yet it worked. All of the characters grow richer and more interesting. I also enjoyed the developing background story. It keeps me excited about the books to come. Excellent book and narration.
