THE STORY
There is no way out.
The walls have fallen, the gates are breached, and the defenders are slain. It is the end and the death. After seven brutal years of civil war, the Warmaster stands on the verge of victory. Horus Lupercal, once beloved son, has come to murder his father. The Emperor, a shining beacon of hope to many, an unscrupulous tyrant to others, must die. The lives of uncountable numbers have been extinguished and even primarchs, once thought immortal, have been laid low. The Emperor's dream lies in tatters, but there remains a sliver of hope.
Now, at the final hour of the final day, the Emperor rises. With him come his Angel, his Praetorian, and his Captain, all determined to enact terrible vengeance. Yet the hope is slim, for the Warmaster sees all and knows all, and the ultimate victory of Chaos is at hand.
There is no way out.

A must-read
One of the best-written, most well-paced books in the entire Horus Heresy series, and ending on one hell of a cliffhanger. Only in death does duty end, and death is coming soon. For all of us.

Dan Abnett crushes another one. Jonathan Keeble is a master talent. i thought The weight of this stories conclusion would be too much to bear but these gentlemen manage it wonderfully.

A masterpiece
Look a lot of people don’t like what is happening to 30 and 40 k. We have seen a turning point from setting to storyline. GW has signed authors to long term contracts and they are in charge of cleaning up this timeline. The people who have been in it from the beginning want books to represent the campaigns for the tabletop. But, we have a seen a massive influx of new people who are in it for the lore and books. I am one of them, and I have amassed over 140 books. I am proud to see the storyline start tying into what’s going on in 40k. The bell has toll and now the next hour begins.

They Are Crucifying Titans On The Ultimate Wall!
It’s literally a perfect 40k book. This doesn't just tie up every loose end and get the pieces in to their final places, but introduces an entirely new and brilliantly executed concept that takes the stakes to 11. Totally worth the wait. One of the best Warhammer books. You will enjoy it. The audiobook is top notch, the performance is always great. Many secrets are revealed. Great read and listen.

perhaps one of the best heresy titles to date! easily one of Dan's best works! The story telling, the emotions and dread you feel as defense fails and heretics come closer to victory is just *chefs kiss* incredible!

Really enjoyed the seige series,
really enjoyed the overall story especially the little sub plots. The only bad thing is I bet Katsuhiro doesn't get his own statue on palace grounds, the True hero of Terra!!
