Better than Expected
I usually look for fantasy books by length more than any other criteria (the longer the better) and I won't even pretend to have hesitated at a value like this one. 67 hours for a single credit was perfect!
The story was a bit slow as it seeks to bring together more than half a dozen characters at a time; something which was frequently difficult to keep a rolling tally of; but I will admit that, to keep the review short and without revealing too much of the story, I was well pleased with my purchase by the end of the final part and went on to buy the next set of this series (books 4-7).

intriguing
really enjoyed the story and characters. I think reading it would be better than listening because it was easy to get lost at times. there mechanics of twin born are an excellent literary tool and enable twists and turns you could not do otherwise. there were many unpredictable parts and realistic characters.

Great World
My few dislikes of the story do not outweigh the great world and awesomeness of the story. Morin has spent much time fleshing out his characters in great detail and the worlds, the gods, and immortals that inhabit it with them in part. It is very slow going which is one of my dislikes. The action and character development is heavily mis proportioned towards the slow side of life making the book very lethargic at times. Other than that, the series is great and is moving in a positive direction in my view. I look forward to seeing what happens next.

swept away to another world
what can I say? this book is definitely the best that I've listened to in a year or more. I'm so glad I came across it. The story felt real with awesome details. I could imagine the beautiful scenery and characters. I'm a fan of multiple points of view. This is full of great layered characters. Hats off to the performance from the narrator. It was right on point. I felt totally engulfed in the story, and it was a good story. War, pirates, drama, romance and magic. It had everything I hope I find another one like this, but I'm pretty sure I won't
