Resumen del Editor

If you’re a leader, three of the biggest pain points you face in today’s business world are:

  • Making the best decisions when the answer isn’t always clear
  • Maintaining a strong and consistent culture as your business rapidly grows
  • Attracting and retaining the best talent who are a strong culture fit

These problem areas lead to inconsistency, growing pains, and major roadblocks on how to take your organization to the next level. Thankfully, there’s a simple solution: Discover, build and create your core value driven organization.

In The Core Value Equation, Darius Mirshahzadeh shows how core values create the ultimate decision-making engine for your organization that consistently produces spectacular results.

Core values also create an “invisible manager” that sits next to every employee and holds them accountable to a common set of beliefs, actions, and outcomes, all without hiring a single person.

Finally, core values are the best tool out there to recruit and support an army of diehard team members who speak the same language, create consistent results, and make your organization a magnet for like-minded individuals.

Practical advice to help align your organization

The author gives practical advice on how to establish core values for your organization. He explains a concept called "invisible scale" which is a way to get your people to take actions in line with the company's values even when the boss isn't around. His ideas on core values "stickiness" helps keep you from writing a list of well-intentioned buzz words no one can remember. Last, I think his advice on hiring people that align with your core values is a recipe to help save time, money, and heartache in the long term. This book is an easy read and definitely worth listening to as a new way to realign your teams.

For Teams/Groups = must read!

If you work with teams and groups and want to be able to direct individuals without being a micromanager, it probably makes sense to understand the impact of values and culture. This book is a must read on that subject as Darius is a true expert in the field, not only from a knowledge standpoint, but having put the information into practice in his own successful, multiple business building career. Highly recommend!

Nothing new here

Started off kinda strong, but this content would easily fit in a smaller space.

The step by step instructions for the rollout and following are tedious and not that helpful. They really tend towards the one company that has those core values. Most companies would just have disengaged, bored employees after the 5 hour session. But when thinking about what won't work I did come up with ideas on what would work for my company.

Overall it felt like a good reminder of why core values need to be operational not just stated.

The website that contains the printable material is no longer operational which is frustrating.

The narrator was great. Easy to listen to.
