When old-timer Bud Saunders hires her to get rid of a ghost in his barn, she figures it will be a piece of cake. Not so much when he turns up dead that very day. Even worse, the sheriff wants to pin it on Jane.

Add in an unconventional family with a kooky cast of paranormal characters, a nosy neighbor who wants to turn them in for just about anything, and a witchy aunt who has suddenly gone rogue. Before Jane knows it, she’s knee-deep in a heap of trouble that even the most perfectly cast chocolate-laced spells can’t solve.

Cut-off at the end of every chapter

I liked the book itself a lot. Despite having read paranormal mysteries before, this story didn’t feel like treading over too familiar ground. The characters were enjoyable and not grating. The plot and mystery were satisfying and Hollis McCarthy did a great narration job. I’ll listen to the second, but every chapter cuts off at least half a sentence. It’s annoying and seems ridiculously unprofessional and lazy.

Easy, humorous and entertaining.

The characters are kind of kooky, the mystery is engaging, and the performance very entertaining.
