Exciting story, Horrible narrator!

Good story line and good intrigue. Unfortunately, the narrator was horrible. Only because the story was so good did I continue listening.

Epic Book

This is a first for me. I love reading but because this is my favorite author I decided to try audio. I really enjoyed listening to this book. It is fantastic and I loved how the characters I came to love became more personal by listening instead of reading. I will always be a reader that's my escape, but I will not hesitate to do audio again if more of her books are available in audio.

I See HBO!

Loved this book. The love story was epic. the sorrowful parts deep, the sex scenes both sexy and romantic. I am an adult vampire fan. As much as I love Interview with a Vampire, Vampire Diaries, True Blood and to a certain extent, Twilight, I think this story of Vampire, romance, political intrigue.... this... THIS... would be a great ADULT Vampire series. HEY HBO...ARE YOU LISTENING? Vampire fans over the age of 50 would love this. I am sure there are many of us out here.

loved this story.. I can't wait to read or listen to the others.. emily bex writing is addictive.

Boring narrator

He does a decent soft Italian accent, but how he portrays any female is almost unbearable with very little inflection that sounds real. That said, I think some, (small portion) can be attributed to the very formal “speak” that was written… combo made it hard to listen to.

Story itself is quite interesting and why I listened to the end.

Decent story, shallow character and romance development

It’s a decent story line if you can get past the reckless romance and character development. Woman worth waiting 500 years for that has no self worth doesn’t add up. The sex scenes are a bit bland for vampires, in my opinion, “Lover.” The vocabulary around the bdsm is cringe. I will read most anything with a vampire, but this one did not hook me.

Worst Narrator Ever!

I’m going to finish this book because I paid for it. The story really isn’t bad but the narrator voice irritates the hell out of me. He’s so bland. It’s like his reading a vacuum cleaner manual. He’s voice never changes tone. I won’t be getting the rest of the series because it’s the same narrator for all the books. Seriously it’s taking forever to get through this book because I keep falling asleep. All because of this guy’s voice.

DNF at chapter 18

I just couldn’t get into either one of these main characters… And it was even ridiculous to me is that I’m reading a book about vampires… And that’s more realistic than the idea of teleporting… their insta-love seems fake. The dialogue between characters… I just couldn’t keep any interest whatsoever in any of it.
