Good communication can make everything easier. This book by Dale Carnegie is as true and helpful today as when it was written almost a century ago. Listen, practice, and succeed! It's a "must listen" for anyone who feels they have something valuable to say, but is not quite sure how to go about saying it.
Say the name "Dale Carnegie" and How to Win Friends and Influence People usually comes to mind. What is not as well known is that Carnegie was a professor of public speaking and that, over the years, this book has been just as popular. Written with some assistance from Carnegie's colleague, J. Berg Esenwein, who wrote the Preface and some of the “thought questions” at the end of chapters, the book remains a valuable asset in classes on public speaking.
Carnegie is a true teacher of inspiration. Listen to this book, and you will be spell binding your audiences soon after.

The story is way too drawn out giving repetitive detail over and over. This would be fine in written form as you could skim the subjects you did not need further info on and focus on the ones where extra information was useful to you.
The boringness of tht excessive repetition of the same principle is compounded by the narrator. I do not feel that he did the book any favors with his narration style.
I chose to listen to "how to win friends and influence people" again rather than finish the first half of this book

I had read the comments and saw that others had panned it, but I wanted to listen to it anyway since I needed to be prepared as possible for my dissertation defense. Unfortunately, I couldn't get through it.Couldn't finish it

Actually, I think that may be the only good thing about this book is the irony of the chapter on not being monotonous is so monotonous...well, you get the point. This is AWFUL. No kidding, don't buy it, its terrible. You have been warned.
