Insightful and impactful!

The strategies provided in this book are practical and I can see myself applying them to my life. The tone wasn’t condescending yet gave me the push to continue on the right path of becoming my best self.

Good basic primer

This book had a good basic overview of discipline. It would have been five stars if it had more detail in the steps to building discipline for things like relationships or procrastination.

Short and sweet

This really got to the point fast instead of going circles around the thing repeating it over and over like I see in other books.

I’m personally affected by procrastination and this book puts forth plausible ideas to meet the situation.

Idea is to have a clear small goal (not too many or too complicated to avoid tiring your brain) write down the goal and what you’d gain by achieving it.

This moves the focus from a vague habit to a more effective and relatable and thus tangible thing. Listen to this,

1. “I need to stop wasting time.” This sound good but is difficult to implement, lacks clarity and no tangible benefits.
2. “I need to start my business, so I should spend less than 10 hours a week on Netflix.” This has a tangible benefit and a clear implementation. Author suggests daily goals but I think a weekly goal is better for me for Netflix.

There’s more areas discussed in the book and is easy to finish in one sitting (or lying on the couch 😂).

Covers the basics. Might give you some new ideas

I listen to a lot of these type of personal growth books. This one wasn't very in depth but I appreciated the fact it gave quick to the point ideas. A lot of self improvement books waste time telling me about stories of random people that I've never heard of and how they overcame the odds. Thankfully this book didn't have that so I was able to just listen for advice and tips. I did learn some new things and will try out the 30 day self discipline challenge for myself. That is probably the biggest takeaway from this book. The narration leaves some to be desired because it sounded very monotone and robotic so it wasn't very exciting to listen to but good introduction to this type of knowledge I suppose. 3/5

Easy quick & enjoyable read

I enjoyed her mini book on time management, so I thought I would give this a go. It gets a high rating because there are a couple of good ideas.

It's a nice little reminder why we need discipline, but not necessarily like the idea of it due to negative connotations.
