One of the best survival books ever

Over the past 30 years I've read literally dozens of survival books. Without a doubt this is one of the top five I've ever read. Jonathan pulls no punches and tells it like it is. I've spent over 30 years in the security industry and I would recommend this book to anyone.

Lots of good info

This is the first survival book I have read/heard. At first, I was disappointed because all I was hearing was how impossible it would be to do anything meaningful. It is not until the second half of the book that the author starts getting into strategies and detail. I could do without the religion and repeated self-promotion. Overall, I found the book helpful and took useful notes.

Great guide for the end

Great book. had a lot of advice and practical information. the products recommended were easy to get or find online. worked from a budget stand or if you have money.

Best written of this genre

Some books are lists and some books are stories. This one is neither. Some don't give you enough details on the tools and others give you so much that you can't comprehend it. So I'm only give you a higher and options and others only low-end options. In this genre, this book sits perfectly in the middle as far as information goes which is why it gets five stars for me. It is 100% practical and reality-based with explanations for all of it. The book rarely takes a hard line approach to any of the items in tactics listed on the last the author 100% believes that is the only option. The book is written open ended enough for you to interpret your situation instead of telling you what you must have. There is great information in this book and it is definitely the best read so far for me in this category.

Yes, Jonathan has a very realistic view and makes good points, even to someone seasoned in preparedness. This book helped me check my opinions and ideas for comparison. I think it is a great book for a beginner looking to get started and would save them a ton of money in buying mistakes of gear and ideas.
