Awesome!!

a wild, intriguing, and non-stop ride. loved the combining of the novels to enjoy it in a 26 hour period. I like being able to pickup and just go. I found the races involved and the conspiracy intriguing. this book is absolutely amazing. I cant wait to read the next series!!!!

Mediocre Sci-fi at Best

To me, there are two types of enjoyable sci-fi. The first is stories that are believable to an extent. By that, I mean the science (though much more advanced than what we have now) is well developed and logical, the characters are deep and relatable, and the plot is plausible. In the second type, the opposite is true, but they are obviously works of humor, parody, or satire and not meant to be taken as serious works of science-fiction (e.g. The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy). But the Ixan Prophecies falls outside these two -- it wants to be taken seriously but is too flawed to do so.

The science and technology presented in the Ixan Prophecies makes little sense and any attempt to explain it just highlights more odd flaws in its conceptualization. The characters are one-dimensional and seem to have very little depth outside of their assigned roles and trope cliches. And the plot, when it made sense and wasn't full of holes, just wasn't that exciting. Overall, the Ixan Prophecies is just okay military sci-fi. It doesn't have what I'm looking for, but maybe it works for others that aren't really looking for the deep or immersive qualities I value in a good book.

Mark Boyett does a pretty good job with the narration and does manage to give all the main characters unique voices, even adding a bit of personality that I don't think was present in the actual writing. He managed to elevate the novels into something slightly more enjoyable than they would have been without narration, which is always something worthy of praise.

Lots of action, not that interesting

I bought this book as part of a sale, listened to about five or six hours, got bored, got bored really quick actually but decided to give it a chance based on all the good reviews...

The writing is fine, and some of the ideas were cool, plus I enjoyed the narration, but I found the constant fighting scenes to be dull, the characters decisions and dialogue were kind of basic, and the plot just wasn't gripping me.

Maybe it gets better but I just didn't care to find out.

Worth your time

This is an enjoyable space opera, not as good as The Black Fleet books, but solid and enjoyable.

Decent Sci Fi but dragged on

The first 1.5 books were excellent military science fiction, the remaining books were overly done with mixed plotlines and too many "I'm smarter than you! I planned on you seeing my trick so I made a trick to trick your trick!" moments. The BBEG was uninspired and forgettable, and the rest of the characters needed more depth.
Voice acting was excellent

Flat

I could not get into this book. I am a huge fan of sci-fi in space operas. This book was just boring. There is a lot of action written into the book, however it was just very flat, boring, bland action.

I stuck it out all the way to the end though. But I was very much looking forward to getting to the end.

Good but no understanding of tactics

These stories had a lot of potential but stupid greed leadership , screw-you attitudes and no understanding of ground or space combat crippled the stories. Other than that books 1&2 do a nice job helping us to get to know the characters but he left a lot to be desired in book 3

This lost my attention a lot

It's not a bad book, however I can't call it a great book series either. The performance is good, the story is meh, with good points.

Great Trilogy!

Great Trilogy, wonderful characters, awesome action. The military space story I wish I could have written. Also, fantastic narration.

Loved it!

I made the mistake of listening to this after the Ixan Legacy series. it would have made more sense to have read these first. Regardless, this was an entertaining series of books and tied up a lot of loose ends for me.
