Neat story

Good continuation and development of Rebus’ character. I enjoyed this. Looking forward to the next in the series.

The Scottish accents make it, well performed and it's good Rankin

Rankin's great

This story gets out there rightaway, and you are into it up to your neck. Everything is fast-moving as usual with Rebus sometimes annoying, as his general character is meant to be. I was right with this reading from begining to end. couldn't put the book down(so to speak).
The narrator is excellent and the surprise but very interesting ending had you guessing all the time. Highly recommended reading. I would love to talk with this author, he must be a hoot!

A decent Rebus novel

Not my favorite but a serviceable Rebus novel that builds a number of side character stories as well as Rebus. 3.5 maybe 4 out of 5.

Rebus regains early promise

This listen seemed more solid in plot, character and writing than Rebus #2 and #3. Narrator Gillies seems to let Rebus be a little more Scots - but still does not deliver the man from Edinburgh as well as James Macpherson in Knots and Crosses. I find that Rebus starts to "age" well from this point on in the series. I hope Audible keeps adding the later titles!

Okay mystery

Slow start, questionable logic, but slowly starts to make for reasonable mystery, some humor, good characters

a good audio performance, I always try to remember how difficult it is to differentiate all the different characters... the plot has some twists and turns and interesting enough story

I love Rebus

Great book. Good characters. Fabulous narrator. All make for an interesting audiobook. One of my favorites so far.

Typical Rebus book but the narration missed quite a few of the humorous asides that make this series so much fun.
