Acerca de esta escucha
A collection of 12 stories: one for every month of the year.
- "A New Life" - "Faithful is He that promised." Mary Louise McKinley clings to that promise as January brings the start of a new life to her.
- "Forget Not" - Kevin and Carlee are at odds. Something is wrong between them. Will their day together be spoiled, or can an elderly friend's accident save the day?
- "Winter Is Past" - Cloudy, dreary day. Will spring ever come? Mrs. Wilkinson and her granddaughter find spring in a basket of daffodils. But what will they do with them?
- "Happy Day" - Rinnah and her daddy have always done just fine alone together. Then a new friend enters their life, and Rinnah begins to make some important discoveries. Join young Rinnah as she records in her diary the events leading up to the happiest day of her life.
- "Even the Beasts" - When Harold Manning's trip to town is delayed because of a mountain lion's visit, he and his wife must trust that all things - even beasts - were meant to praise the Lord.
- "His Mighty Acts" - With the second World War still raging, Mrs. Lydia Newham plans to spend her anniversary alone. But her son, James, has other plans. So does someone higher up.
- "Honor All Men" - Devin Moreland doesn't smile. Why should he when his home has been vandalized? Things change, however, when Sergeant Sinclair steps in with a 4th of July celebration to remember.
- "The Way to Go" - On his mother's advice, Hugh joins a hiking trip into the mountains. Seeking direction for his life, he has no idea how the trip could possibly show him the way to go.
- "Faithful" - When young Bobby Nicholson's new puppy lives up to his name, it causes quite a stir in their little country church - in more ways than one!
- "Give Attendance" - Harvey wasn't interested in books and didn't read anymore, so inheriting a library from his great uncle was definitely not a dream come true. His only desire was to get rid of it quickly - until a rainy afternoon exploring his uncle's apartment made him reconsider.
- "Heritage of Praise" - With the loss of her mother just before Thanksgiving, Marilyn feels anything but in a grateful mood. But a visit to Grandma's attic brings to life a tradition long forgotten. Will this be enough to turn tears into praise?
- "Unto Him" - When 10-year-old Richard discovers a family has moved into the empty house in the neighborhood, he is excited. Especially when he meets Jon and Jack. But something seems wrong. Is there anything Richard can do to help make Christmas special for his new friends?

It's easy to feel at home in Mitford. In these high, green hills, the air is pure, the village is charming, and the people are generally lovable. Yet Father Tim, the bachelor rector, wants something more. Enter a dog the size of a sofa who moves in and won't go away. Add an attractive neighbor who begins wearing a path through the hedge. Now, stir in a lovable but unloved boy, a mystifying jewel theft, and a secret that's 60 years old.

One wrong move can undercut your message. Believe it or not, our bodies speak louder than our words. Postures, gestures, and expressions convey reams of information - and often not what you'd expect. A smile, for example, is usually considered welcoming. But crook one corner of your mouth higher, and you project superiority, subconsciously chasing other people away. Without Saying a Word explains how even the subtlest motions have meaning.

When Sy Levin, a high school teacher beset by alcohol and bad decisions, leaves the city for the Pacific Northwest to start over, it's no surprise that he conjures a vision of the extraordinary new life awaiting him there: "He imagined the pioneers in covered wagons entering this valley for the first time. Although he had lived little in nature Levin had always loved it, and the sense of having done the right thing in leaving New York was renewed in him."

Historia
In turn-of-the-20th century Texas, the Berachah Home for the Redemption and Protection of Erring Girls is an unprecedented beacon of hope for young women consigned to the dangerous poverty of the streets by birth, circumstance, or personal tragedy. Built in 1903 on the dusty outskirts of Arlington, a remote dot between Dallas and Fort Worth’s red-light districts, the progressive home bucks public opinion by offering faith, training, and rehabilitation to prostitutes, addicts, unwed mothers, and “ruined” girls without forcibly separating mothers from children.

Short stories with emphasis on each month.
Stories Through The Seasons by Rebekah Morris
This is a nice collection of short stories, well written and well narrated.
Although I am not a great fan of short stories, I must admit that I enjoyed this collection. There is a good balance of historical and contemporary stories that includes an appropriate story for every month of the year.
These stories are not as complex as novels and basically have a singular focus. These are interesting, provoking, and a great easy read. Although I listened to the audiobook, I think it would have been a great read, where you could really enjoy reading them one story at a time.
Out of the collection, I have to admit to a couple of favorites:
"Even the Beasts" where a mountain lion comes back to visit the man who nursed him back to health.
“Honor All Men” where a Viet Nam veteran is having problems with his home being vandalized.
I won this audiobook in a contest by the author. I was not asked to review the book.

Short Listens
These twelve touching short stories written by Rebekah A. Morris and read by Andrea Rossignol were an interesting listen. The narrator did a nice job with different character voices. The various stories were touching and often had patriotic themes. The stories involved lessons of faith. I was given a copy of this audiobook. All opinions are my own.

A Wonderful Collection
Age Appropriate For: All Ages
Best for Ages: All Ages
When thinking of a word to describe Rebekah’s books, I think the best one would be gentle. While there is action in some, heartbreak in another, and lessons to be learned in yet another, none of them are gritty, none of them are scary, and none of them are hard to read. Her stories, while not always happy, are the kind that young and old can enjoy together.
This is a collection of short stories she wrote, one for each month of the year. I listened to them all in a few days, but I think it would be a lot of fun to listen to one each month.
Some of the stories were better than others. Here is my list from the ones I loved the most to the least:
Winter is Past ~ I just loved this sweet story.
Honor All Men ~ This is a Veteran’s Day story and it was so good.
Happy Day ~ This was such a sweet story about a little girl getting a mother.
Heritage of Praise ~ This Thanksgiving story was sweet with a good lesson
Unto Him ~ This was s sweet Christmas story about helping others.
His Mighty Acts ~ This was really sweet and I loved the historical aspect.
Faithful ~ This story had me laughing.
Give Attendance ~ I liked the story but I found it sad that anyone wouldn’t want a library.
Even the Beasts ~ I found this one interesting.
The Way to Go ~ This story was okay.
A New Life ~ I had trouble following this story. Maybe it was just me.
Forget Not ~ This story bothered me. It seemed to make light of very real issues.
As for the narrator, I feel like she did a great job giving people different voices. I would listen to more narrated by her.
