a must read for stepmoms

A very frank yet sensitive perspective is offered on step-parenting in this book. I especially liked the chapter on bonding and the advice given there: don't push it and follow the child's guidance. The chapter on taking care of yourself is an excellent reminder of this critical aspect. The author reminds us that although these relationships can be challenging, a loving relationship can be the outcome of being patient and supportive.

This audiobook is an informative and unique guide for stepmoms. It will help them how to deal with their stepchildren and conflict resolution situations. I rcommend this book for stepmoms who are in this family arrangement or about to get into it.

Relevant for today's Modern Families

This turned into something I wasn't expecting. I really appreciated this book having grown up in a "blended family". I especially liked the focus wasn't on preserving the feelings of the adult but taking a look at how the children fare in the new family dynamics. Totally could have used this book 20-some years ago. Well done, perfect for some reflection especially prior to committing to a relationship with children.

This book makes me confident

I am about to become a new stepmom. I was so nervous because I want to be the best stepmom I can be but didn't know where to start. After listening to this audiobook I feel so much better. I know what to look for with the step kids, their relationships with each other, their mom and dad and how to relate to them and so much more.. I am so happy I found this audiobook. Thank you Vanessa. I know I'll be a better stepmom now.

Great book!

Gave alot of good tips! Great tips on how to get close to your step kids and what to do if they are acting a certain way. I feel like most of us get stressed out with dealing with kids who act up but this book can help how to communicate with them and the partner. Specially now more recently that alot of couples are separating and more kids are having stepmoms and stepdads this book can really help!

An easy book for Stepmoms

A great book to better understand your role and expectation as a stepmom or soon to be. Seldom do you find books that talks about relationships for stepmoms so Im glad to have found this. The narrator was easy to listen to and I found a lot of helpful tips inside.

This book fills in and answers all the questions you may have about being or becoming a stepmom. Women today often become stepmoms, but do not know how to act as one in order to get the most out of their kids and family. A lot of information and straight to the point.

An Amazing book for stepmoms

This book is very informative for stepmoms. It prepares the step mom on what to do when you have fallen in love with a man who has children. Usually because of love women are shortsighted of the expectation that comes with being a step mom. In order not to be overwhelmed every step mom need to have this guide handy.

What a great book

I love the compassion with which this book was written. It's so important to hear the stories of women who have been there! There are lots of things you could stumble over in this journey, but this book will help people avoid quite a few of them. Fantastic narrator too. I enjoyed it.
