An ex-pro gamer's body and mind are on the line as he fights for his life in the Hell level of a mysterious "Tutorial" in this dark fantasy LitRPG.

Lo Fennrick is going to die. Maybe later this month, maybe this very week. Either way, the homeless ex–pro gamer is only going to avoid starving if he freezes to death first.

On a snowy New Year's Eve, Fennrick negotiates one last hurrah in a seedy internet cafe, but at the stroke of midnight, he receives a tantalizing invitation: "You have been invited to join the Tutorial." And when presented with the available difficulty levels, he makes the obvious choice: Hell.

Soon, Fennrick finds himself in frenzied, violent combat, and it's a toss-up as to which he'll lose first: his life or what little sanity he has left. With his criminal record, estranged family, and nonexistent future, he's ready to accept death.

But with monsters lurking in every corner, he's surprised to find himself battling all comers—human or otherwise—in a desperate attempt to save his own worthless self. Can Fennrick emerge from Hell with a single shred of his sanity intact—or will it be game over?

The first volume of the hit LitRPG horror series—with more than 750,000 views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Too many stories don’t torture their isekai weak-to-strong MC enough. This story gets a lot closer to that ideal. Unfortunately, the main character is rewarded for this suffering, but most readers will enjoy this regardless.
Hilarious story, tear jerking moments, adorable psychopathic viewpoint, a fantastic (yummy) narration and likely to be the best litrpg you’ve ever read.
I strongly recommend this read to people who thought “the tutorial is too hard” was too easy and self-inserty. I also strongly recommend anybody reading this review to buy this book now.

A must read for thrill seeking litrpg fans.

The narrator was on point and the story was yummy too! More wordy word words

A great but weird book

really silly torture story with a troll for an mc... I like it though it does lose a fair amount of sense for the sake of gore. example: he always loses fingers climbing after his resistances have grown... but in the beginning he manages to push arrows out of himself by the shaft. from experience pushing arrows/pencils/needles/large slivers of wood through chunks of flesh with your hand doesn't really work since your hand is also a chunk of flesh and it tends to just dig into your hand more than through meatier tissue. you have to brace against bone if you don't have pliers or a rock to hit it out with and finger bones are too round and slippery.

great narration with MC you love to hate

When I first started the book I was going into it with my view a bit soured by a negative review, calling it madness and cruelty for no reason and the fact the main character is probably hallucinating all of this. but as I got deeper in I realized that all this pain, all this suffering is deserved. yes he's kinda a terrible person, but God is it surprising funny to hear him rant about flowers for an entire chapter. so for good or for worse I will keep reading this series to the bitter bloody end, because goodness am I invested.

A entertaining book on madness
