At last, a solution! In Slim and Sexy Forever, Suzanne Somers outlines a program specifically designed to address the needs of women and men who want to lose weight and replace the lust for life that naturally wanes with age. In this “baby boomer’s recipe for the fountain of youth,” Suzanne shows you how to:
• melt away the unwanted pounds
• reinvigorate your sex drive
• capture youthful vitality
• develop a more positive outlook on life
• sharpen memory
• eliminate hot flashes
• achieve optimum health from the inside out
In her runaway New York Times bestseller The Sexy Years, Suzanne changed the way we look at our health and hormones, showing how replacing hormones lost in the aging process with natural bioidentical hormones can eliminate symptoms associated with aging.
Now, in Slim and Sexy Forever, Suzanne combines her cutting-edge information on natural hormone replacement with her successful weight loss program, Somersize, for a one-two punch that is the only proven solution to the problems associated with aging. Working with innovative doctors, Suzanne has created a program that alleviates symptoms such as mood swings, sleepless nights, hot flashes, and diminished sex drive that are so common as we get older. Simultaneously, her phenomenally successful Somersize program shows you how to beat a stalling metabolism and stay lean and trim while eating remarkably delicious food. With millions of people losing weight on the program, it is a proven formula for success.
Suzanne makes clear in this fascinating new book that if your hormones are out of balance, you will not be able to lose weight. Weight loss must be approached with a twofold strategy as you get older: balance your hormones the bioidentical way and eat correctly. One doesn’t work without the other.
In Slim and Sexy Forever you’ll also learn:
• The truth about carbs: Depriving yourself of too many carbs will lead to hormonal imbalance and weight gain. Eat the right carbs to lose weight!
• Plateau-busting tips: Suzanne explains why you hit plateaus and exactly how to push past them to achieve your goal weight.
• The connection between adrenals and weight gain: If you blow out your adrenals trying to be Superwoman, you are going to gain weight and feel fatigued. Find out how to prevent that from happening.©2005 Suzanne Somers; (P)2005 Random House, Inc. Random House Audio, a division of Random House, Inc.

Reseñas de la Crítica
“I lost almost 60 pounds three years ago Somersizing, but going through the change piled it back on. . . . Then I realized why—my hormones were so out of whack my body wasn’t working properly. Then I saw you on TV discussing The Sexy Years. . . . Within two weeks of starting my compounded natural hormones, I noticed my symptoms diminish, and the weight started melting off too! I’ve lost 28 pounds. I exercise daily, I’m eating fabulous foods (desserts too), my hormones are back in balance, and my darling husband of 30 years is happy to have his vibrant wife dragging him into the bedroom again! I will be a Somersizer and Bioidentical girl for life.” —Sherri Elliott
“Everything is so delicious and satisfying. . . . One thing is better than the next. I lost 160 pounds in fifteen months and have been maintaining now for about four months. And the best part is, I feel fantastic.” —Carol Ann Friedman
“I am fifty-four years old and began your plan in May of 2003. By November of 2003, I had lost 30 pounds and had gone from size 14-16 to a size 8. I am so thrilled to report that I have maintained the weight loss and am now a size 6, and have bought a few 4s. Never have I felt so healthy and so alive! It is a brand new way of life and a totally changed state of mind.” —Linda Cohen

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. The information given is proven scientific ways our body works. It's similar to the Jillian Michaels book about hormones that affect the body. Every person should know & understand how their bodies change after 40. The proof is in the results -she's gorgeous! How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Slow down! I love her chatty way of speaking but sometimes she speaks so quickly that I was constantly hitting the rewind 30 secs button. The audible app on my iPad & ph have a narrator speed adjuster but when I slowed it down by .5 it was too slow. How could the performance have been better?
Speaking slower in parts. Though I must say that there is no mistaking her passion for what she wants to convey to you. I love that! Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
For the most part yes. Getting all the hormone info into my head took a bit more time. The 1st half of the book talks about hormones and how they play a huge role in weight balance. The 2nd half of the book talks about her weight loss plan "Somersize."I didn't understand the entire way of replacing hormones naturally through bioidentical hormones and it seems that one still needs a doctor's intervention to make that happen. I was hoping for a more natural through nature solution -as in the foods we eat or not eat. I understand well now why I have the "7 dwarfs" of my body after forty. I was shocked to learn where synthetic hormones come from -ewh.
Any additional comments?
I read Suzanne's 1st book "Eat Great Lose Weight" in 1996 and this audio book talks about that program & expands a bit on it. I had no idea she was so cutting edge back then. Looking back she had it right about the fad diets of Low Fat, Low Carbs, High Protein, etc. & how they don't work -this book explains why. As with Jillian Michaels and others she promotes kicking out the processed foods, artificial sweeteners, & caffeine that is hurting our bodies.Solid Information
