Fast paced
The story was fast paced and gripping. I had a hard time pausing because I just wanted more. I liked most of the characters, but a couple just seemed over reactive and I’m guessing there will be more backstory in the second installment of this series that will justify the over reacting.
I’m a little disappointed that as of writing this review I can’t pre-order the second book for this series. I’m excited to keep reading about Helen.

Finally! A Woman Heroine
And she doesn’t look like Barbie. She’s smart, capable, and tough. A real person with real issues to deal with in spite of being a recently retired agent for the CIA. Great story!

Anthem to Aging Gracefully
This novel manages to use all the tropes of spy thrillers while remaining new and refreshing. Older female action protagonist, realistic action, creative twists that don't seem flat or utterly predictable. I would 20 more novels about Helen. There's gulf of story telling, we need female protagonists that are older than 40. Badass, but not unbelievable. Manages to pen all of the various. attles and indignities that are heaped upon women in every sector. Amazon make this a PRIME series.

Strong, Smart Female Lead and Fantastic Story!
I wish more people knew about this author. She should have thousands of people reading and enjoying her work!! She writes smart, capable, and strong female leads with really good stories. This book was a suspense and had several storylines that weave interesting connections between characters. I think the narrator is fantastic. This is the first of a new series and I cannot wait for the next installment. Check out her Valkyrie Ops books - they also have strong, military female leads. I want more of her books on Audible! Please!!
