This series was just okay

This series wasn’t as good as the others I listened to. The first book peaks your interest and keeps you going. She introduces a new twist with animal beings that are highly intelligent and fun.

The next three books get a little repetitive. The two main themes seem to be the main characters being able to finally have sex and the female character only wants to be a mead maker. In her other books there are more characters with interesting personalities in this one they seemed a little flat.

Great ending to a wonderful story!

As usual, Lindsay Buroker delivers on engaging characters, lively conversations, and an interesting plot. The main characters are easy to like and there are fully developed secondary characters and storylines. The ending was satisfying though I was sorry to say goodbye to these characters.

What a ride

This book was nonstop action. You really don’t have time to catch your breath. Loved this series and sad to see it end. Well done Lindsay Buroker.

I enjoyed the relationship between the two main characters.

I especially enjoyed the humor and the different characters. The ending was appropriate for most of the people, which is, after all, is what makes a story satisfying.

the Story

This was engaging from the beginning of book 1! I was excited to get to book 4 so soon and put closure on the story!

the companionship

I love this writer a lot because she doesn't go to fowl language and doesn't have to much sex content.

Epic adventure! Unique storyline! Fascinating characters!

Lindsay Buroker has once again delivered a wondrous, thrilling adventure filled with both deeply written characters and a detailed, engaging world. I was captivated by it and didn't want it to end.

Sadly, the narration is so badly done I feel compelled to criticize it. After decades of listening to stellar Podium productions, this is the first criticism of any Podium production I've given. I'm frustrated after the listen, having read the books first. I hope other listeners get past the audible deficiencies, bask in Ms. Buroker's amazing fantasy universe, and have time to read the story from this brilliant, adventurous author, undamaged by the flaws of the narration that confuse and damage her work.

Just a great story

I loved it 😍

I read some reviews saying this series is a bit reptitive, but I disagree.
Loved the change in pace and premise and this new world created by Ms. Buroker.
It was a bit more romantic than usual which was also nice.
The narration was wonderful.

Odd focus on bestiality

Generally I enjoy Lindsay Buroker series. I found this series to be overly repetitive. It also had a fairly weak lead female who continually makes dubious choices.

The romantic couple are kept apart as he shifts into a beast. The female lead is terrified of the beast killing or maiming her but still goes on and on about being attracted to the beast as well as the man. The woman drones on and on about her fantasy of love.

She supposedly is a mead maker and a ranger in training but spends more time fantasizing than doing any work. She is constantly abandoning her duties to have others complete her tasks.

I felt the story was constantly derailed by the main characters juvenile romantic fantasies. Each book in the series getting progressively worse.

If you are terrified of being killed by a beast, you don’t fantasize about the beast romantically, yet this character does.

This story could have minimized the strong focus on bestiality while keeping the storyline intact.

If this was the fist Lindsay Buroker series I read, I wouldn’t read another.
