Ralph could be described as a rogue on a good day.

A bad day involved a lot of cursing, calling him a pirate, or sometimes even having a shoot-out.

The Confed and its neighbors are about to be plunged into a world of war that spans across the entirety of their universe. From the citizens of the Blood to the Scrap-Worlds on the outer edges of the Confed, the life of everyone is going to change.

And Ralph?

Well, Ralph is about to get a brand new letter of marque to add to his original one, except for the territories of the Blood of Calesat.

Ralph Turlan will go from smuggler to Privateer with a commission to burn the enemy to their deck plates all while getting a bonus for every ship he puts out of the war. It's time to go collect Turlan's Toll from anyone who crosses his path.

Let's just hope the crew of cast-offs better fit for the isle of misfit toys can come together quickly.

A great listen.

Great, first book in a new series. I love the way that it tied into Cavalier’s gambit.

Different!

I loved that it was different from so much of the usual stuff I find.

Good story and lots of action to keep you listening.

Another great Randi Darrin book. Hope there are more to come in this series.

Excellent story

This is an excellent story. The narrators worked amazingly well together to bring what were already interesting characters to a more colorful life. Look forward to more in this series.

Good start to a new series

Beginning was a little slow but a good read in all. Not sure how I feel about the ending but definitely looking forward to the next in the series.

My favorite new series by Darren

I have been avoiding Darren’s books for a while due to the multiverse but try a book here and there. This book was very well done and had me hooked all throughout. Rebecca and Daniel are amazing as always. 10/10 can’t wait for the next book

The one character who was straight out of a cheap 1990’s era porn movie.

Half good story, half Space Porn. I guess you CAN tell a book by its cover. I went with the synopsis instead of the cover art. The story was a good one if you can ignore the periodic bouts of 1990’s porn dialog.

I wanted to like it but it felt wrong.

The book itself started good. But quickly felt like it was rushed or partially AI produced. I say this due to the fact many characters were smashed together neatly and then rushed from place to place with no development between.

After the first fight and stop it just kept getting faster. Introducing characters that felt like they should have more weight but unfortunately were empty.. if this book was split into two and flushed out it would have been a great series.
