When eight-year-old Roxy and her dog Muffin are snatched from Earth during Halloween night, they're thrown into the PRIX GAMES—a deadly intergalactic Game where survival is optional and Entertainment is mandatory.

Armed with nothing but a chainsaw named Baby, Muffin, a newly sentient canine companion, and an attitude that refuses to quit, Roxy must navigate the first of six increasingly lethal Game levels filled with murderous aliens, opportunistic bounty hunters, and products so dangerous they come with their own death waivers.

As they gather a ragtag team including a discount Darth Vader and Unda Wada, who fights in a shark costume, Roxy discovers a horrifying truth: the Game isn't just collecting players—it's harvesting souls. Thousands of former contestants lie trapped in pods, powering the very system that killed them.

With the help of a resistance movement, her foul mouth, and her battle-hungry dog, Roxy agrees to a plan to overthrow the Game from within. But in a world where death comes in the form of exploding sock puppets and weapon swaps that replace your chainsaw with a kazoo, the odds aren't exactly in their favor.

ROXY and MUFFIN Versus the Infinite Death Gauntlet is an action-packed LitRPG adventure filled with irreverent, inappropriate humor, heart-pounding battles, and bad knock knock jokes. It's READY PLAYER ONE meets GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY meets Dungeon Crawler Carl, with a little eight-year-old girl at the center who might be the galaxy's most dangerous Contestant yet.

Because sometimes the best hero is the smallest one. And sometimes that hero's dog is an even bigger badass.

FOUL LANGUAGE, SAD ATTEMPTS AT HUMOR, BLOOD, GUTS, OTHER STUFF THAT YOU MAY BE OFFENDED BY. THIS IS NOT FOR CHILDREN.

So fun! An off-the-wall LitRPG that will keep you guessing and laughing. The author's choices for similes and descriptors, for example, are delightfully bizarre. "Murder disco hootenanny" should become part of everyday parlance. And who doesn't love a cute malamute who's enthralled by murder?

The narration is genius, with distinct voices for all the characters. I could vividly picture each character and each scene. It felt like I had a friend reading me a story. Remarkably well done and great for adults, teens, and older children with a sense of bloodlust.

A glorious murder romp

Super cute story idea, I really enjoyed it. I am looking forward to book two. the only thing that confused me was Roxy gaining foul language with her intelligence, I'm glad she didn't use it all the time but I guess there are adults who do that a lot. Good story, can't wait for the rest!

This book was so funny that the amount of outtakes for giggling and laughing while narrating it was ridiculous. Totally added to my editing time. 10/10.

Wonderfully dramatic characters mixed with humor and absurdity. T.L. Campbell’s unique voice will spur laughter, and solidify admiration for the wonderfully unbridled narrative.

I honestly wasn't sure if I was going to like this book because it's far removed from my usual murder/mystery/detective novels. Boy was I wrong! This story had my attention immediately and was so much fun to listen to! It was funny, interesting, and had a lot of references I appreciated! Great writing and great narration--really kept my interest! Looking forward to Roxy and Muffins next adventure!!!!

Interesting story and great narrator!

Roxy and Muffin Versus the Infinite Death Gauntlet is the kind of chaotic, rib-tickling adventure that grabs you from the first line—and refuses to let go. Imagine The Hunger Games gone rogue, infected by Guardians of the Galaxy fanfiction, warped through a dungeon-crawling prism, and fueled by a pint-sized girl with a chainsaw. That’s this book in a nutshell, and it absolutely rocks.

What Makes It So Original

A bone-dry sense of humor meets literal bloodbath: Roxy is only eight, yet she’s armed with a chainsaw called Baby, and her loyal dog Muffin isn’t just sentient—he’s unapologetically homicidal. Together, they'd make even seasoned monster-hunters blush. With exploding sock puppets, cursed loot that replaces your chainsaw with—yes—a kazoo, and vending machines out to murder you, the absurdity is unmatched.

Genre-blurring mashup gold: This isn’t just isekai or GameLit—it’s LitRPG horror-comedy. One moment you’re keeping score of stat swaps and dungeon levels; the next, your tongue is planted firmly in cheek. If you love when genres collide in glorious fashion, this one’s for you.

Funny as Heck (and Unexpectedly Touching)

The humor is gleefully profane and wildly imaginative—and it works because it never undercuts the peril. Roxy and Muffin are both adorable and terrifying. A chainsaw-wielding girl and her dog? It’s like Kids-in-the-Hall meets Resident Evil. And yet, just under the surface, there’s something surprisingly heartfelt: the high-stakes Game isn’t just for sport—it’s enslaving souls, and there's a rebellion growing.

How It Delivers Action AND Character

Bullet-fast pacing: From the moment Roxy (and Muffin) get yanked off Earth on Halloween, there’s zero time to catch your breath. You’re plunged right into the Prix Games, a deadly broadcast hellscape where survival is optional, but violence is mandatory.

Quirky companions: Roxy’s team includes a clearance-rack Darth Vader knockoff (yes, it’s as ridiculous as it sounds) and Unda Wada, who fights wearing a shark suit—for, you know, obvious reasons. These characters are so bizarre they land just right.

High-concept stakes: This isn't just about eliminating opponents—it turns out the Game is a sinister harvesting machine, draining former contestants' souls to power its violence. Suddenly, the stakes get heartbreakingly real: this isn’t just spectacle—it’s systemic horror, with Roxy’s rebellious streak at the heart of it.

In Summary: Why You’ll Love It

This book is gloriously unhinged—and that’s the point. It’s got in-your-face comedy, gut-churning action, genuinely emotional stakes, and inventive worldbuilding. It’s perfect for anyone yearning for a fearless, profane, exciting ride through the most bonkers GameLit imaginable.

The Author did an amazing job bringing the characters and this story to life. It is a must read.
