Interesting and charming

Lovely historical novella dramatizing real events. Makes me interested in the history of the period, and as always, Denise Mina has an incredibly deft touch in making the nuances of momentary emotions feel exciting.

An interesting little book

I know nothing about Mary Queen of Scotts, but now perhaps i know a little more. Im glad the narrator has a Scottish accent.

A true story told in a narrative that is so well done

This is the true story of the murder of Rizzio, who was the favorite of Queen Mary of Scots. Brilliantly told and read. It covers the events of just 48 hours.

Fantastic listen

From the very beginning of this short book I was sucked in, entranced by her descriptions of the character’s appearances and actions. The author has an amazing talent for creating atmosphere. I have read many books about this event but this is the best by far. Very much looking forward to her future work in this genre!

Familiar historical fiction with delightful Scottish accent reader

Didn't add anything new to what I knew about Mary, Queen of Scots and the murder of her musician David Rizzio, and in fact was a bit superficial BUT the reader was great!
