Resumen del Editor

INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
#1 WALL STREET JOURNAL BESTSELLER

Deadly operative Scot Harvath faces down the country’s most powerful enemy in #1 New York Times and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brad Thor’s new white-knuckle thriller.

An unprecedented, potentially nation-ending threat has materialized on the world stage. Fearful of the global consequences of engaging this enemy, administration after administration has passed the buck. The clock, however, has run out and doing nothing is no longer an option. It is time to unleash Scot Harvath.

As America’s top spy, Harvath has the unparalleled skills and experience necessary to handle any situation, but this assignment feels different.

Thrust into a completely unfamiliar culture, with few he can trust, the danger begins mounting the moment he arrives. Amidst multiple competing forces and a host of deadly agendas, it becomes nearly impossible to tell predator from prey.

With democracy itself hanging in the balance, Harvath will risk everything to untangle the explosive plot and bring every bad actor to justice.

Another Great One

Great narration, well written, and my number 1 favorite series to read in this genre. I read most of the mainstream authors in this genre.

Unfortunately, this book was a bit off.....

I am a big big fan of Mr. Thor and of Scot Harvath. The last couple of books have torn my heart out with everything that Scot has had to deal with. For some reason, this book felt "off" to me. That is not saying that I didn't like it - because I did. I just never went into the "zone" or whatever it is that you want to call it. That state of mind that we get in with all of the great books - where we lose ourselves in the story and before we know it, we've gone through hundreds of pages or hours of time. I seemed to skim on top of that area with this book without ever really sinking in.

The plot of this story deals with Scot being tasked to investigate the murder of a retired ex-agent who is brought back into the game and then murdered while he is doing his job. The main bad guy is China. That part was very timely and I could see the justification for everything that we are told.

Scot ends up traveling to India and meeting and working with two new characters. I liked each of these two people. We even had a plot spinoff with Nicholas. Honestly, I would have LOVED more of Nicholas. I found that storyline extremely compelling with Nicholas and his family facing danger.

But....everything felt superficial. Like it was just skimming on the top of a lake. And then, to top it all off, it was wrapped up so quickly. Quickly and efficient. That's how it felt. When I finished the book, a part of me thought, "that's all?" Honestly, that has never happened with a Scot Harvath book for me before. I'm not sure I like that feeling. Let's hope it is a one off, or better yet, let's hope it was just an off day for me.

A little Different yet quite good

This was more of a cop story than a spy story as one would expect. Still o found it top notch, just not your usual Brad Thor/Harvorth thriller. I recommend it nevertheless

This is light reading/listening not literature

So if you are looking for entertainment this is really pretty good after the story moves out of Afghanistan. Action in Afghanistan is a string of clichés, but then it gets better for the rest of the book.
I think its sort of kinda Tom Clancy like but a little lighter, probably worth a credit if you have an extra one.

Good Story

Only regret is this is the last book on Scot Harvath
I found more time spent on other chracters than Scot Harvath but glad to see everything ended well.

Hoping to see the publication of the next book in this series.
Great Narrator no one else should ever be used.
I have now read every one in this series and wish there was another
