Every day, most working professionals entrust their most important messages to a form of communication that doesn't build trust, provide differentiation, or communicate clearly enough. It's easy to point to the sheer volume of emails, text messages, voicemails, and even social messaging as the problem that reduces our reply rates and diminishes our effectiveness. But the faceless nature of that communication is also to blame.
Rehumanize Your Business explains how to dramatically improve relationships and results with your customers, prospects, employees, and recruits by adding personal videos to emails, text messages, and social messages. It explains the what, why, and how behind this new movement toward simple, authentic videos - and when to replace some of your plain, typed-out communication with webcam and smartphone recordings.
Restore face-to-face communication for clarity and connection; add a personal, human touch to your emails and other messages; meet people who've sent thousands of videos; learn to implement your own video habit in an easy, time-saving way; and boost your replies, appointments, conversion, referrals, and results dramatically. If you're ready to influence, teach, sell, or serve in a more personal way, Rehumanize Your Business is your guide.

Now, about BombBomb, do the authors want us to buy their product? Sure, but remember there's nothing wrong with being above-board about the fact that you have a great solution. There is no "ulterior motive" here. They do explain all the different ways you could use video in emails with specific tools and an honest evaluation of the positives and negatives, and then they tell you how great they think their own product is. One thing that really tripped me up about using BombBomb was that when I embedded the video in a Facebook post, it didn't start playing during a viewer's scroll, so I got huge traction in terms of views of a certain post, but only 2 video plays because no one realized they were supposed to click to watch the video. I also ran into issues with the thumbnail on a Mailchimp email which made viewership of that video quite low as well. Basically, I learned that this is a great tool for actually in an email, but when I try to combine BombBomb with other platforms, there are problems. However, this isn't a review of BombBomb, it's a review of the book, which is a 5 star read IMO
Changed how I view customer communications

There is endless reading of customer's and customer's customer's quotes. Some of them are even repeated more than once in the book. There is also lots of citing of pointless statistics, down to the fourth significant digit.
The content of this book, with video examples, can be found on the internet in twenty minutes, on Bombbomb's website or elsewhere.
If you want to learn something about marketing I suggest for example anything by Jeb Blount, maybe Virtual Selling or Fanatical Prospecting. For those of you with business customers there is Selling in Manufacturing and Logistics, by Mike Jones and Ken Guest.
One or two general self development books will also help you with the right mindset and attitude, regardless whether you use phone, email or video in your contacts.
Too many customer quotes and stories
