All it took was one man to cause everything he had worked for to crumble...and all it took was one man to stop him. The Pope was very powerful - but he was also mortal.

And so it begins, an almost unthinkable plot - a plan to bring down not just leaders, but nations. Ryan will find himself in the middle of a chain reaction, a high-stakes game meant to shake the world...and in which a novice CIA analyst might just be out of his depth.

Red Rabbit and the USSR

Clancy gives an insiders look at the USSR just before the fall of the Iron Curtain and weaves it around a spy/assasination story. 3/4 of the book seems to be Clancy explaining the workings of the USSR and why it fell, the remainder, is the actual story. Not that this is a bad thing, all that Clancy has to say about the USSR is really quite interesting, especially to those of us who lived through all or most of the Cold War. If you are interested in only the main storyline, get the abridged version. However, if you have an interest in history, the unabridged version is the only way to go.

Not much thrill and Intrigue

What did you like best about Red Rabbit? What did you like least?

This book is kind of boring, not a whole lot happening here. My least favorite Tom Clancy book of the 15 I have listened to so far... you can skip this one and you will not miss anything from the series..

It was smooth and did not detract from the story.

Another Great Clancy Work

This book is a typical Clancy book. And any Clancy fan will enjoy this.

Good Performance

But, not the star of the Jack Ryan series. There are many other, much better stories. This one is not horrible, but I’ve read most of the Jack Ryan stories and this was one of the few left in the list. Now I know why. I recommend almost any my other Tom Clancy Jack Ryan novel, this one just doesn’t have the same, taut suspense or story telling. Nevertheless, I am still a fan of the novels.

Scott Brick is my favorite for a good read.

This was rollicking good fun! I miss Tom Clancy. Scott Brick did a fantastic job as usual.

I am addicted to this series

Great 2nd book. Narrator was great. His Russian accent, British accent were spot on! Read Patriot Games first and then this one. Now for book #3

Awesome book!

I’ve already listened to Red October and Present Danger but this one was more fun than either. I’m off to hear Patriot Games

Good story

Just a really slow story, and extremely long. Was a good listen, and hard to get through

Jack was stumbling along and finding himself in the right place at the right time.
