With the rising cost of food and the mystery of what's actually in it, raising your own is the way to go! Connection to your food source is really special and rare to come by these days, but the food tastes so much better and is much higher in nutrition. This book has a wealth of information for beginners, so you can feel confident about getting started. I love the stories in the book and how there is a clear emphasis on the fact that it’s not just about the food. When you are around these animals and in nature it does something to you. It’s grounding, calming, empowering, and can induce a state of peace. Having experienced this myself, I can really relate to what the author is communicating here. I highly recommend this Audiobook!

Taking Self Sufficiency to a Whole New Level!

With everything going on in the world today we decided to start raising chickens and goats so we would always be able to provide food for our family. We knew nothing about raising these types of animals and these two books helped get us up an running so we are confidently taking care of our animals to provide our own eggs and milk. Highly recommend for any beginner like me who wants to learn this stuff from the ground up!

I've wanted to get chickens for a while (Goats as well, but that'll take a little longer to convince my partner). This book was exactly what I needed. It covers every aspect from A to Z and gets you well on your way to being self-sufficient and having a fully functioning homestead. Its easier than you think!

A comprehensive guide for the beginner!

This 2-in-1 audiobook should have been titled "Everything you've ever wanted to know about raising chickens and goats". It provides specific details in a wide variety of areas. For instance, with chickens, the author gives information in such areas as selecting the right breeds, proper nourishment for chickens, differing amounts of eggs from various breeds and health concerns of chickens.

The author is likewise detailed when talking about raising goats. He describes the different types of goats and their personalities, proper feeding instructions, how to shear, milk and breed goats. He even gives detailed instructions in how to milk a goat (which was quite interesting!)

If you are looking for up-to-date information on raising chickens and goats, this is your resource! I highly recommend this book!

Very Helpful and Useful

It was a lot of information that I didn't know about raising back yard chickens and goats until I listened to this audiobook. The author was very clear and honest in the cost and responsibilities that comes along with it. The narrator performance of delivering the message was also valuable and it made the audiobook more enjoyable to listen to. Overall it's a great resource for people looking to raise chickens and goats while earning additional income or have as a pet.
