Resumen del Editor

Attachment theory has entered the mainstream, but most discussions focus on how we can cultivate secure monogamous relationships. What if, like many people, you’re striving for secure, happy attachments with more than one partner?

Polyamorous psychotherapist Jessica Fern breaks new ground by extending attachment theory into the realm of consensual nonmonogamy. Using her nested model of attachment and trauma, she expands our understanding of how emotional experiences can influence our relationships. Then, she sets out six specific strategies to help you move toward secure attachments in your multiple relationships.

Polysecure is both a trailblazing theoretical treatise and a practical guide. It provides nonmonogamous people with a new set of tools to navigate the complexities of multiple loving relationships and offers radical new concepts that are sure to influence the conversation about attachment theory.

well written

this was a very well-written book. at times there was a lot of terminology that just made things a little confusing. but overall very well written. I kind of felt a little called out at times lol. but this is a great addition to more than two and I think will be a valuable resource for my future growth

Poly or not, this book has stellar insights

I’ve read several books revolving around psychological, therapeutic, and self-help themes over the last 15 years or so. I’ve only been polyamorous for a year or so in practice. I could have used this book years ago — I feel like the author should publish a different version that is more generalized but contains much of the same information. Learning to hold a relationship with yourself should be something for everyone, regardless of their relationship styles! There’s so much great information in here about attachment styles too. All in all, I can’t recommend this book more.

super informative and thought-provoking

I really enjoyed the multiple sections of this book especially starting with attachment theory which I was hitherto unfamiliar with. The author's ability to explain and synthesize theories and models and then apply them was very helpful in making a sometimes difficult topic much more approachable. I'm very glad I read this book.

Not just for Poly: Section 3 is amazing!

Although I was familiar with the concepts of section 1 & 2 which are context setting and theoretical, section 3 is well worth this book.

This practical applications section offering methods for creating safety and security in consensually non-monogamous relationships is so important, and I praise the author for their application of clinical and lived experience that is soothing to the ears.

Most of us thrive with multiple attachments (commonly called friends and family). Some of us also thrive when more than one of those attachments are romantic or deep attachments.

Excellent Read

A good book for practical polyamory while also considering how to help yourself and your partners through our personal hang-ups and attachment styles. Highly recommended for anyone interested in non-monogamy.

Not Just for Poly Peeps

I found the information and the way it laid out to be informative - not just for those in poly or looking to move towards poly relationships - but also for those who are monogamous. The way the information regarding attachment theory and the indepth explanations of the various types of attachment theory and how to create secure attachments with yourself and others is invaluable.

Great intro

More than half of the book is attachment theory and self care and generally applicable relationship advice. The parts on csm or polyamory pay off regarding attachment issues. I wanted a bit more as suggested in her introduction but loved it.
