I read Gene Simmons Kiss and make up several years when it first came out. By the end if I were to look up narcissist in the dictionary would be his face. A lot of the facts that were already known about Gene was already known, its all about him. In Paul's book it was all about him, with a very decent approach. Paul makes himself human and it was a very insightful interesting book. Once I started listening to it it was very hard to put down. He does have many negative views but in the end he had a lot walls built into bridges. He of all people you wouldn't expect to have an inferiority complex but in the end, again, he made a lot of progress. Great book!

Informative, Engaging and Touching

I listened to this book over the past 4 days at work, which made my shift fly by. I was moved by Paul's struggles and his journey. It made me feel connected to whom someone I've never met, yet found myself rooting him on as if he was a good friend.
I loved it!

this book has it all.

I loved it. not just rock stars, but a happy ending. the emotionally and physically scarred boy grows up dragging baggage, but finds his place in life through playing a familiar character.

Paul Stanley is beautiful and honest about his careers highs and lows. without all the over hyped drug stories and watered down cockery so many rock guys bios fall into.. an incredible document of transcendence.

Great book!

I've always been a huge fan of Kiss and getting to hear so much detail about how the band came about finding its place in history and learning so much about Paul was great! There are always so many rumors and stories floating around about people and it's sometimes difficult to tell what's real or not. He certainly doesn't hold back and its refreshing to hear the openness about his past and coming to terms with who he was, is, and wants to be. I definitely recommend the book. It was really good. It was also a huge plus when I found out Paul narrates the book himself. Amazing!

Great bio. Even better that I listened to 12 hrs of it on the way and back from long trip.

The fact that Paul was so insecure growing up and even now.

Which character – as performed by Paul Stanley – was your favorite?

His younger days. The way he was treated by his parents and school kids. They can all screw themselves now can't they!!!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Neither but it gave me a better insight about my favorite band. The whole is not always what it has seemed to be.

Excellent book from and incredible musician.

Book was incredible. Read perfectly and kept my interest throughout. Recommended reading for all Kiss fans.
