Told by the man himself, Graham Nash tells his life story in a warm intimate in your face way, that is installed from the beginning to the end, leaving no stone unturned. No sacred cows here. I was deeply affected having grown in myself through Mr. Nash telling his "Wild Tales." I highly recommend this audiobook. Thank you Graham Nash for everything.

If you lived the 70's then this audio is for you

It's amazing how much detail Graham brings to his journey. I'm live in Los Angeles so I am so familiar with the landscape. I love CSNY music -- early days. Live concerts today are now too much of their political views.

A good reflection of the substance of the man.

A good book reflecting in an authentic way the craziness and bliss have a life well lived.

Fantastic

Graham totally unlocked the back-stories for me, teenager in the 70’s who remains a diehard fan nearly 50 years later. And all this told in his voice and so eloquently… just fantastic.

First half great, the rest is OK

The first part of this books- his early days through the formation of CSN and then CSNY - is very entertaining and a wonderful perspective not only on his career but the broader evolution of rock. The rest of it somewhat degenerates into a series of anecdotes, many fairly repetitive, of fights, drugs, concerts, personal
philosophy, name dropping, and self-congratulation. In fairness, for all that, it gave me a real appreciation of Nash's dedication to music, the sheer persistence of CSN, and the breadth of Nash's interests and talents, although not accompanied by a lot of insight. For me the part up through the formation and development of CSNY made the second part worth it.

Just OK as Rock Star Bios Go...

I was somewhat disappointed in the content of this audiobook. It's like a never-ending story of a dysfunctional family. CSN / CSNY get together and make great music...do tons of drugs, fight and go their separate ways only to come back together to repeat the cycle over again...

Don't get me wrong, there are some real gems on information such as how the Hollies got their name as well as some great anecdotes such as how "Just A Song Before I Go" was written, but overall this bio is just not in the same league as those by Eric Clapton and Pete Townshend for example.

Not sure I'd recommend this.

If you love early rock and roll you'll love this book. It is right up there with the very best of them.

Loved this wild ride!

This was a standout memoir. I was engrossed from the minute I pressed play. Aside from the amazing content, which is a given if you know anything about this artist, the writing itself is actually high quality and Graham was able to create vivid imagery to enhance his narrative. The author's narration was phenomenal as well, and this was especially critical when reading lyrics; Nash's ability to sing his lyrics rather than recite them brought this book to life. One of the most captivating audiobooks I've listened to - 10 out of 10.

Lots of details of the 60's Laurel Canyon crowd

I finished most of it, but had to bail very near the end when Nash, a hard-wired liberal, physically joined the Occupy Wall Street radicals. As I grew up in the same era, I well remember each historical event he recounts and every contentious iteration of CSNY. I especially enjoyed the details and explanations of the stories behind the story, like his certainty that Cass Elliot died from drugs because he had known her to still be using, even though the official cause of death was heart failure . What I had to wade through was his condemning finger wagging at anyone who does not ascribe to his politics, causes, and beliefs. If I ever do a re-listen, I will fast forward through those parts. In a nutshell, I reasonably enjoyed this listen.
