John Fogerty
Creedence Clearwater Revival is one of the most important and beloved bands in the history of rock, and John Fogerty wrote, sang, and produced their instantly recognizable classics: "Proud Mary," "Bad Moon Rising," "Born on the Bayou," and more. Now he reveals how he brought CCR to number one in the world, eclipsing even the Beatles in 1969. By the next year, though, Creedence was falling apart; their amazing, enduring success exploded and faded in just a few short years.
Fortunate Son takes readers from Fogerty's Northern California roots, through Creedence's success and the retreat from music and public life, to his hard-won revival as a solo artist who finally found love.

"A natural storyteller, folksy and crusty, Fogerty chronicles the brief but brilliant success of his band, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and its tragic collapse."—Greg Schneider, The Washington Post
Featured Article: Hearing Loss—Navigating the Noise of Grief and Surviving the Silence that Follows
Grief is complicated and messy and painful and frustratingly unique to each and every individual who has experienced loss. There is not a one-size-fits-all balm for that which can feel insurmountable, even unsurvivable. But when you're ready, embracing all of the sounds that made your loved one who they were can bring you a little closer to that memory, sometimes so close it can feel like they're still there.

John, however, often sounded like he was reading someone else's story. This, one of the greatest story tellers of all time, sounded stiff telling his own story.
Loved the story, love the guy, virtually worship the music.
Love John, nuf said.

If you could sum up Fortunate Son in three words, what would they be?
Thoughtful, kind, sincereWhat did you like best about this story?
John tells his story from the heart, honestly and straightforward.Any additional comments?
Insane that a talent such as John Fogerty didn't have the backing of band members who fully understood exactly who stood before them. Love his solo work, even Eye of the Zombie which John seems to be embarrassed to have produced (???). Had CCR stayed together, one can only imagine the music that could have been. His telling of their breakup is hard to read/listen to. You want to shake someone. Funny that John was CCR, yet had the least ego of them all. He's understandably a bit bewildered at what happened. I am too. That he hadn't the chance to flourish way back when is maddening. What a talent
