Alex Carlisle owes a debt beyond cash. Once upon a time - all of three months ago - Alex found himself in a foreign land hunted by mercenaries and demon lords. Only the intervention of a sultry, playful jinn got him home again. Zafirah didn't help him for free. Now she's come to collect.

With her sights set on a dangerous family of ancient sorcerers, Zafirah needs every edge. She needs not only Alex, but the friends and lovers he brings with him. Her quest threatens to extract a price from angel, demon, and mortal alike...and most especially the witch who brought them all together.

Great continuation of the good intentions series. Tess Irondale does an awesome job as always. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Nice

The first few chapters don't seem to have any relevance to the rest of the story which makes it seem pointless to include them. I have no issue with the content in them but it should have had some kind of effect on the rest of the story or it feels kind of hollow and pointless. The character development is a bit lacking as well. The characters that are explored get just a brief discussion then the story moves on never really acknowledging it again in any depth. The protagonists and antagonists feel very simple in a they're bad we're good kind of way and that feels like a shame because this story in particular could have had more complex foes than the previous books in the series but instead they had basic motivations and no likable traits whatsoever. The protagonists feel like they don't change or grow throughout the story. The villains never feel like they really got a good punishment just a quick death for torturing an angel that's the only part of the story I really didn't like everything else is just parts where I feel improvements could be made. All in all its ok.

It's not bad

Wonder Woman, The Boys, HBO's "Watchmen", and so many other television shows spend time punching Nazis. Ruining pop culture for Nazis is in, and I'm loving it.

This installment in Elliott Kay's series is good, and taking the time to repeatedly remind Nazi readers that they can go get punched, is totally worth it, and particularly fun. It's no more distracting from the plot than the sex scenes.

I love it when writers ruin their work for Nazis.

This book is just as much fun to listen to as every other book in the series. In fact it's even better in some ways. I like how they kept some of the steaminess in the book but at the same time they toned it down so it wasn't the focal point. The story was a lot of fun and the characters were exactly as you would expect them to be. Where a lot of people seem to be turned off is in the 1st few chapters of the book. Basically they're butt hurt at the thought of punching nazis.

Let's set aside the political aspects of punching nazis for a minute. Did these people not read the 1st 3 books? Does it not seem entirely in character for every single one of the main characters to be at a demonstration on their campus punching nazis? In any way that whole thing only lasts for the 1st few chapters. The way these people are whining you would think the entire book was about it.

TLDR: ignore the nazi lovers giving the book 1 star. It's every bit as good as the rest of the series. Tess' performance is as great as ever, too.

Pay no attention to the butt hurt one star reviews

Probably wouldn't have checked it out if it wasn't for the bad reviews. When people out themselves as being offended by the punching of nazis, I learn the validity of their comments. This is an incredible series and I can't wait for the next installment. If you enjoy well written erotica than this is for you, and I do mean well written. The world building is great, the magic system makes sense, and the sex in topshelf. The nazi punching is just icing on the cake. Who the fuck defends nazis.
