Great addition to the series

The MC of this branch of the series is real down to earth and had a tough start in life. Despite everything happening to would cause a darker outcome he has his own guidelines and doesn't compromise.

glad to see him back

A very good continuation of the series with new blood and Lore. I'm left wondering who could bring order to the supernatural world now.

Great continuation of this series without rehashing. Very interesting new characters. Tess Irondale hits it out of the park. Already impatient for the next book!

fun ride

well that was a fun book with amazing narration. Story is great and I hope there is a direct sequel.

Action and Sorcery

Elliot Kay does not disappoint. While not as sexually explicit as her previous works, the story is still adventurous enough to keep me fully engaged.

A different story in universe

So a new protagonist, a different city. I wondered at first why it wasn't a separate series, but there were enough returning faces that it makes sense.

At first I wasn't feeling it with protag-kun, he felt more reactionary and passive, but he went a lot longer by himself without help than Alex did. As soon as he had someone to help him navigate the world he was thrust into things picked up and really started to cook.

I like that things unfolded taking into account things in world from the previous series, but not enough to make it not feel like its own thing. There was far less smut, but that makes sense as there isn't a sex demon at the fore this time. Overall pleased and glad I got to listen to another chapter in the series by the author.

Irondale as always, is a pleasure to listen to.

another banger!

Elliott Kay knocks another one out of the park! I love that he wrote a story about a new character in his previous universe. he tied in just enough from the previous series to establish the theme, but let the new characters shine on their own.

Another great side story.

Fun new characters and great read as always. Only a couple shorter sexy scenes for better or worse, but something about Kay’s writing always has me hooked from beginning to end.

good story, but one complaint

it's a good audiobook, my only complaint is that it was listed as part of a series, and that connection didn't actually appear until the last chapter. This would have been better listed as a Side Story.

Great Series

I enjoy the whole series from this author. Like artists through history, I should warn of content that clearly illustrates the author's views on sociopolitical and cultural beliefs. Due to that, it bears mentioning that someone who can't enjoy work by authors that shows those sorts of opinions might not be able to get into it. That said, I highly enjoy the writing quality, character development, and witty humor throughout the series. The spicy scenes are done well, narration is amazing, and the story is the focus throughout.
