A must read

Gia and Simon have loved each other since they were teenagers. They were separated when her family moved away. Now her job may separate them and ruin their second chance at love. This book is filled with fantastic friendships, secrets, heartbreaking decisions, and love. I must admit that there were times when I wanted to yell, "What are you thinking?!!!" If I had been reading a paperback it may have been thrown across the room , but my tablet may have not survived. You will wish you had friends like Mia and Simon have.

The narrator brings you right into the story. I received this Audible book in exchange for an honest review. I highly recommend this book. It has so many feel good moments. Just don't throw your tablet.

fun story

I love the emotions between Gia and Simon. They have a history, many ups and downs in their relationship. The secondary characters add fun and depth to this story. Lauren Helms story touches on the subject of mental illness and how it emotionally effects the family.
Amanda Stribling voices and personalities for each character were spot on, and ability to transition from one character to the other is flawless. 🎧#audiobookobsessionreviewer🎧

2nd chance

This is my first book by this author. I enjoyed getting to know Gia and Si. They have an amazing group of friends. The story of finding their way back together is a good listen.

Totally Adorable

I loved Gia and Simon so much! This was such a great second chance romance and a feel good story! Really enjoyed the writing. My biggest complaint is that I wish the author would have given us more time with them being together at the end.

Loved the narration! The acting was great, her voice showed the happiness and joy in the good times and the doom and gloom in the sadder times of the story. She really did an excellent job!

Gia and Si have a cute love story , It is about a 2nd chance romance and how fate brings them back together years later.
The friends keep the story entertaining you can say .We all need a these cast of characters in our lives . The book has it all . Romance , drama , comedy, and so much more . I need a tissue and a chocolate bar .
Need a fun book to listen to this is the one for you .

Alpha Gamer Boys Rock!!

Just when the depression set in after finishing Book 1 in this series...and you're missing Dex and Morgan like crazy....Book 2 starts and you realize you love Simon and Gia just as much!! This one is brought to life by Amanda Stribling and it's full of ALL the feels! These gamer boys are hot hot HOT and it's the perfect escape to lose yourself in!!

Second chance romance

Gia and Simons story is a very emotional and heartfelt story with a ton of baggage. We get to learn of their first love when they were young, before Gia had to move away unexpectedly, and the choices she made that broke both their hearts. Eight years later, thrown back together in their new friends circle, Simon can’t get past what she did, and she feels guilty and doesn’t blame him for his anger. There’s a lot of hurt, heartache, and pain between these two, and how they maneuver their way out of it is a sweet and touching, albeit bumpy ride. The author also touches on mental illness and how it effects everyone it touches, and not just in a small way. It’s handled very well, and I think very realistically. Once again, we are witness to a wonderful circle of supportive and loving friends, demonstrating that it’s not just love, but our friendships that get us through our challenges in life. This was a heavier story than the first book, but in the end, it’s all the sweeter for it.

Does distance make the heart grow fonder?

I devoured this book in an afternoon. I really enjoyed the writing style and could easily picture myself in this group of friends. Their connections were so relatable and genuine. I loved that there were little things like a brand of headphones and a streaming site that I recognized instantly thanks to my own gamer boy. This is a really quick read that would be perfect for the beach.

This is the second book in the Gamer Boy series. The Story revolves around Gia and Simon. Growing up they were best friends and first loves. When a family tragedy tears them apart at 16, the need for a clean break prevents any closure for the pair.

Now nearly a decade later they find themselves in Chicago with the same group of friends; Awkwardly navigating their new relationship dynamic. While the spark of their childhood connection heats just below their icy exchanges.

Can they put aside old hurt or will a familiar set of obstacles keep them from finding their happily ever after?

Sweet moments, Fun setting, Good narration

Loved the gamer aspect; that's what mainly drew me to this book. I haven't read the first book; I think it would've added to the story if I had, but I still really enjoyed this book and didn't feel lost. I would like to definitely check out the first book after reading this one though; what I read in this book about the romance totally won me over.

This book tells the story of Gia and Simon and their second chance at love. Simon's a pro gamer and works with a team in competitions. I think he's a sweetie. Gia is friends and roommates with one of Simon's gamer pals' girlfriend. I wasn't completely sold on her. Simon and Gia have a past that their current group of friends don't know; both haven't been very forth coming to their friends about what happened, but something did go wrong between them because now they barely acknowledge each other. The connection and attraction between them can't be denied though, and they begin to grow closer.

There's lots of sweet moments and I did like the connection between Gia and Simon. Unfortunately, Gia is the main reason for the loss in the rating. She was just too prickly at times, I don't like that every chance she got she chose to withhold information and lie, and I just felt she was too self-involved. It's fine to look out for yourself, but I think it would've been good to see some selfless scenes with her. I never really felt connected to her character. I wanted her to be the one that took that leap to make amends more; more of an effort from her would've been good, so I felt that she truly cared/loved Simon. She's okay, I just didn't get enough of her character to know who she truly is. She has dealt with some difficult things in her past with her family, so I get a bit where she is coming from at times; she just needs to be more honest about her situation. Simon and Gia do have some good steam though and I loved how supportive Simon is of her. Overall, a good romance with interesting story scenarios.

I listened to the audio on Audible. The narrator did a good job. Her voice fit the story well. Good performance.

A lot of firsts for this book.

This was the first book by this author that I have read it or listened to and a first for this narrator for me as well. This is a complete story that I really enjoyed I liked Gia and Si a lot. The “cast” of characters/ friends is amazing.
