Voice Acting

First I want to say the whole series is an amazing read with an equally amazing premise. I love the fact that the characters are complex and the story line has great twists and turns. I had gotten used to the original narrator and her delivery of the character voices. This last audio version was jarring to begin with. I have to insert here that I will I usually return an audio book if the narrator's voice or delivery is off putting to me. Overall the book itself was amazing but the voice actor who did Mariah's voice came off as what she thinks someone from Georgia sounds like and it seemed like a caricature. This almost made me stop listening. Also, the way names or words were pronounced by the new voice actors made me wonder if they even listened to the previous books at all. At any rate I'm glad I powered through and got the jaw dropping ending this series loves to give its readers. I look forward to the next book in the series.

This series has forever changed me

Just read the book please, whatever you do. Tracy Deon is a master storyteller.I’m still reeling from that ending.

After the long wait, this book did not disappoint! I will say though, it requires refreshing your memory from the previous book so that the reader can follow. I loved the different points of view and feel that they took the book to another level. The narrators were awesome! I also enjoyed the new characters. The book is very well written, with engaging and likeable characters. As always, the ending blew my mind!🤯🤯 Tracy, please don't make us wait another 2 years for the next one, because I can't wait to see how this is going to play out. Selwyn's mother, please step to the front. We have questions!😝

Amazing!

This is hands down the best fantasy series I have ever read! No matter what your “background is” you will root for Bree and her friends/knights because that’s what they are! This book is perfection!! The depth of these characters…my goodness I didn’t realize how often I had been consuming books with flat, one dimensional characters until I picked up this series. This book does not read like a YA. You have a forever fan Ms Tracy Deonnn! Can’t wait for the next book.

Good Plot, bad narration

I’ll start by saying that I really love the writing style and the plot. The story itself is awesome but I have to keep reminding myself that Bree is only 16-17 and is a child. Her character is portrayed as a young girl who is very intelligent, but often makes very un-intelligent mistakes/outbursts. Hopefully we see some poise and some growth in emotional intelligence from her in the next book because she thinks in a very self absorbed way when interacting with the other characters. She also has brash reactions in situations that could get them seriously hurt, which was annoying.

The narration in this one was hard on the ears, especially for Valec’s character. Mariah’s voice actor sounds like she’s exaggerating a southern accent but I grew used to it.

Other than that, loved the storytelling.

Not what I was expecting

The ending was not what I was expecting. I can’t wait to read the next book. Loved the character development. I’m sure the next book will hurt our feelings.

The entire story was amazing but the ending was insane!

I need the next book tomorrow. OMG! This book was amazing I cannot say enough good things about this book. It was hard to put down!
