Stellar voice acting!!!

I could picture it all in my minds eye. The author’s ability to pull you into the fantasy is intoxicating.

The inhales 😖

The woman who narrates gives sharp inhales in between sentences all.the.time. It is so distracting. I’ve never heard this in an audio book before. I’m not done with book, but I couldn’t keep listening without saying something. I even changed headphones thinking that would fix it. I give the performance 2 stars because it’s too much.

The characters are all ethnic

I am always looking for new reads and I love the idea of characters that are like me. It brings fantasy to the forefront for black people.

Couldn’t Stop Listening!

This story was gripping from beginning to end. Micah got on my nerves a little throughout because I expected a little more maturity and caution from her. She was quick to catch an attitude and act off her emotions, but the rest of the story makes up for it. Love the twins!

The Story you didn't know you needed

I just found me a new author and narrators.

This book drew me in on page 1. The world creation is top notch. A twist to the angel/demon trop. This is a very good start.

All characters are ethnic and I love it. I've read other authors who tried to do it well but this succeeded. No ghetto fab/gangster life or cookie cutter stories--insert anyone.

I am currently listening to book 2 with book 3 waiting.
