While frightening and painful at times, this is one mother’s story of faith and surrender in the face of insurmountable obstacles and of God’s presence and faithfulness over decades of time. Shyima Hall was born in Egypt on September 29, 1989, the seventh child of desperately poor parents. When she was eight, her parents sold her into slavery. Shyima then moved two hours away to Egypt's capitol city of Cairo to live with a wealthy family and serve them eighteen hours a day, seven days a week. When she was ten, her captors moved to Orange County, California, and smuggled Shyima with them. Two years later, an anonymous call from a neighbor brought about the end of Shyima's servitude - but her journey to true freedom was far from over.

Top Notch Narrative
I felt as though I lived this story right along with the author! There was an excellence in the way it was presented and read that brought me right to the front row. Also, just the right balance of professionalism and personalized tones and an element of emotion at just the right time made the recipe of this book very palatable. What a wonderful book.
Having grown up with Lore this book absolutely amazes me. Her enduring faith never waivers! This is an excellent testimony of faith and total surrender to Christ!
