RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend listening to this audiobook! It is a mostly light, easy book with emotion and SPICE!! It is a M/M rockstar contemporary romance, no angst, with some mild to moderate drama that resolves into a lovely HEA! Listen to the audiobook!!!!!!

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW:
I have listened to audiobooks with James Joseph narrating in them before that are full cast with several other narrators, but this is my first one with him as the sole narrator. I knew he would do a phenomenal job when I saw his name as the narrator, but it still went above and beyond in experience! He narrates all characters, both of the main characters are male and there is at least one female side character. Samuel is American and Jay is British which makes the narration just so much fun to hear! The emotion and depth he adds to the story is just amazing! I am an audiobook lover no matter the narrator, but there are some narrators that just have an amazing gift and James Joseph is one of them!

BRIEF RUNDOWN:
Love at first listen! Samuel heard Jay sing and knew he was in love. Never in his wildest dreams did he think he would ever talk to him, much less meet him and realize the feeling was mutual! Jay didn’t realize how much he needed Samuel’s love, acceptance and connection. This is a relatable story even with the “insta-love with a rockstar” trope, where there is acceptance of who you are, learning the world will accept you too if you give them the chance, and learning you just needed the right person behind you to keep all the pieces together when things try and fall apart.

GENRE, POV, TROPES & LENGTH:
My Obsession by Jade Grey is a standalone M/M Contemporary Romance. The POV changes by chapter between Samuel & Jay, mostly one after the other. The ebook is approximately 150 pages and a 4 hour audiobook, so a shorter read without lacking in any area. Perfect for taking a happy mental break after a long & heavy read or just to boost your mood! Tropes include rockstar romance, M/M, insta-love, and more. It does have a playlist at the front of the book and an epilogue in the back.

Samuel Lewis is an American guy who is sweet, charming and has quite a healthy obsession with a rockstar. He has THE most amazing sister who I adore, Mariana!

MMC:
Jay Walker is a British rockstar! He has continually been told being an openly gay rockstar would destroy his career. So, he only has emotionless romps in secret which is slowly killing him inside. He no longer sees himself as a person to anyone, just a thing people use. He is desperately in need of a change in his life.

STORYLINE/PLOT:
Samuel Lewis is in love with Rockstar Jay Walker & has been since the first time he heard Jay sing. He follows Jay on social media and DM’s him at least once a week. Jay sees the messages but never responds… until one day he does. This leads to them deciding to meet up at his Seattle show coming up soon. Jay asks Samuel to show him around Seattle. From there they spend every minute together, days and nights, while he is in town. Leaving Samuel without a word that Monday morning was soul-crushing for Jay, but he keeps getting reminded a clean break is best since a relationship is not possible out in the open. An openly gay rockstar would never fly, or so they keep telling him. When something catastrophic happens with Jay’s career, Samuel is there for him like nobody else ever has been. Also, it turns out his career is even better than ever with everyone knowing his secret and so are his performances. Lots of sparks, emotions, and spice mixed into this sweet read about such an endearing couple who both deserve and end up with happiness and love.

it was okay

I really wanted this to be a great book. the story is perfect. the narration as much as I wanted to enjoy was definitely lacking. most of the book I couldn't tell which MC was speaking. it Got very confusing. Two different narrators would have really brought life to this story. Sorry!!! that's my opinion.

Loved It!

I was not expecting this book to be as sweet or as spicy as it is. It's a qick listen but there's still plot and character growth. James Joseph was a fantastic choice as the narrator and really brings Jay and Samuel to life. This will be added to my collection of books I constantly relisten to.
